I don’t know what numbers you think are bogus. The numbers I am watching are not.

Deaths have actually been down overall. Likely because of the shutdowns. Less traffic accidents, work accidents, etc. I feel like I have seen that crime numbers have been going up but not sure if that is compared with last year or just since the beginning of the covid epidemic.
I was thinking about that the other day. The Harvard lady that said that homeschooling should be illegal (don't think that's exactly what she said but that is how it's presented) had me thinking about that.
Probably domestic abuse in general is up. Less coworkers to notice something is wrong. Heck there are probably murders that have happened that no one has found out about yet because social distancing has led to less interaction/ less opportunity to check in on friends and relatives.
USAA credited us a partial refund of our automobile insurance, since we are driving less. Wasn't expecting that but it is appreciated.
In the bigger picture, yeah, there are all kinds of ill-effects of this lockdown. That's the other side of the coin regarding health concerns for the public. Some have been mentioning this and have been shouted down as "evil capitalists," "heartless Orange Man-loving rascals" and other nasty insults. But, it is a reality. I don't believe anyone is tracking any of it.
On a happier note....since I always look for that ole silver lining...there are reports the Mexican drug cartels are taking a huge financial hit during this lockdown. With hotels, restuarants, clubs all shut down, public places their operatives were operating to find new victims, etc. their demand has dried up. So, that's good.
BTW, as I recall, when all this panic started the major excuse for the lockdown was so that our hospitals would not be over-whelmed. Well, that never happened. Hospitals are 80% empty and have laid-off doctors and nurses. My daughter was laid off from her CNA job, but landed another gig in the infirmary of a detention center for girls. She was lucky that job popped open when it did. It actually pays more than her previous position too!
My niece in Florida voluntarily took a 4-week furlough in her RN job since her hubby has a great, high-paying job and she thought she could endure the lack of pay better than one of her co-workers, single moms who are the sole providers for their families. I am very proud of my niece for doing that.
Point is...I think our HC system has weathered the C-19 storm and its time to get back to regular operations (a little pun there...get it?).
Alabama beaches reopen today at 5:00pm ... I-10 east is going to look like a Cat-5 evacuation.. Can't imagine what Mobile tunnel is going to be like..
Death numbers for Jan ‘19 are still being revised as of April ‘20. That is normal, but also makes comparing current numbers to “normal” numbers a moving target. To get a rough estimate of the effect of COVID, perhaps you could subtract reported COVID deaths from the avg daily death numbers of a normal year? For 2017, that number was about 7700.

I narrowed it down to just Louisiana in the other thread. Approximately 125 per day. Works out to be approximately 5300 over a six week period. They are saying 1800 China Virus deaths in Louisiana. No way we ever get the real numbers due to the what will be called a down swing in the normal death rate.
What.. now WHO agrees with Sweden's Covid-19 approach? "Model" for countries to follow? Guess Sweden's check cleared the bank at WHO, cause WHO has been all over the place on this.

Sweden, 21,000 cases. 2,500 deaths. With twice the death rate of any other country, it is really hard to tell about Sweden’s approach.
Some state data comparisons.
