Re: Comments That Don't Warrant A Thread
The wind is blowing like crazy here in West Monroe. Not sure what it means, but the birds are very active. The humming birds are the most active I've seen them in weeks.
Re: Comments That Don't Warrant A Thread
Has anyone ever used the phrase "not to be pedantic, but. . ." and not followed it with pedantry?
And it's not just nerds - insert "racist" or "a wet blanket" or "y'all, I don't mean to be ugly, but. . ."
Why do we do this to ourselves? If someone begins a conversation with "not to be rude," everybody knows what's coming, right? It's counter-effective at this point. We're on to it.
So why don't we just say what we're going to say, and if it needs to be defended, defend it directly and specifically (or don't say it)?

Not to be pedantic or disablist, but monorchids seem like they're not all there.

Oooh -- double entendre!
Too cute!

Some of the folks complaining the loudest after a 2-0 start are some of the same who seemed content with a loss against TCU.

Very insightful, mad. That actually might warrant its own thread!
Re: Comments That Don't Warrant A Thread
Heard this on NPR and it brought back memories. I think we pulled two all-nighters in a row working on our Sr. project.

Buffalo is now SUNY Buffalo. SUNY = State University of New York? Why the change in ID? Is this the first year for it?

That's always been their official name. At least, that's how I've always seen it written out (I knew a bunch of kids from Japan that went there). If I transfer a record to them, that's how I have to search for their code (in the government database).

Okay thanks. This is the first year I've noticed Vegas listing them that way.

I'm going to start a line of clothing and accessories for marathon runners. The slogans will be things like, "Every Step Sucked" and "I wish I hadn't started, but I didn't give up" and "Holy F***." Each one will have a 26.2 logo underneath.
That way there can be at least one honest marathon shirt/sticker out there. Training is the worst.

Take your concept on Shark Tank and get FUBU founder, Damion, to back you!
