I'm going out again this evening.
Some one needs to call the Ruston Leader....the web site still has the reward @ $1000.00
I'm convinced Tech XX was picked up or stolen. Anyone who's seen that dog in person knows he couldn't wander more than 10 feet away in 5 minutes if he wanted to. Furthermore, the land immediately behind the vet is too harsh with many ruts too large for a bulldog to quickly cover, which would allow the caretaker at the time to catch him getting away if he was let alone for 5 minutes as claimed.
Also, the land across the road from the vet is fenced in at least 50 yards both ways, so he couldn't have crossed there either.
This leaves 2 possibilities:
1) He was picked up along the road.
2) Someone, a friend of someone, or an opportunist in the vet took him.
Again, this is all assuming Tech XX was left alone for no more than 5-10 minutes.
We need to set up a search crew. This is high priority.
I'll check El Jarittos
If he were hit, he would have had to crawl out of site otherwise he'd have been seen. I've back and forth on that road about 20 times since yesterday, and there is no sign that he has been hit. Nothing in the road to indicate any animal has been hit and nothing on the side.
My daughter tells me Tech XX was always at Sexton's and they routinely let him out the side door to do his business. She was in there once and he was at the door and they said to let him out, he always comes back.
Has nobody walked that damned creek bed yet? I guess a broke down old man is going to have to do it this evening. If I had known that nobody was going to actually get out into those woods to look for him, I'd have gotten up early this morning before the heat was too bearable. I'm going to check online later this evening, and if no one has actually put foot on the pavement (or in the woods), I'll have to do it tonight.
Has anyone knocked on doors in that area? It is possible that a little old lady saw him wandering around and felt sorry for him, so she took him home. People do things like that all the time. If an older person has him, then it is unlikely that he/she has a twitter account or reads this site. In that case, the dog could be in good hands, but no one knows it.
Another possibility is that the dog is looking for a cool place to lie down. Bulldogs overheat pretty quickly and he might be under a house, in a barn, could be in a lot of places, but I doubt he would have travelled very far on his own.
