The problem is that UTEP, ECU, and UCF have some of the largest fan-bases in the conference.

Haaaaaaa. right. are you kidding me. SMU wants absolutely nothing to do with being in a conference with UNT. They would vote for us over them in a heartbeat. In the Dallas Metroplex, only TCU and SMU exist. Unt is that far away school 40 miles from everything important, where students go because they couldnt get into those two schools and want to stay close to mamma.

then why has La Tech been "no voted" twice?
AD's and fans have NO vote...only Presidents.
SMU is private...UNT is public...they don't fight each other for funding for students.
