So they would have been OK if it had only been one shot to the chest?

You didn't answer my question.
First I'll agree 7 times probably is excessive but I haven't seen whether this was one person or multiple. Second I would imagine any family member of mine would listen to the police, not fight with them, evade them, try to get in a car either to drive off or possible get a weapon.
Tell me what the cops should have done. Let him get in the car and drive off?
If that close family member refused to comply with police orders, if that close family member had a history of violence and told the police that he had a gun in his car, no problem with it. Did you expect your children to listen to you when they were young? Did you teach them to obey those in positions of authority or did you tell them to just say F off.. and do what ever they wanted to do? Johnny as you are a Christian man, I know you taught your children better.
I can't answer your question because I'm not omniscient. What could they have done? If the perp was not putting them in mortal danger, they could've not shot him. Law and order doesn't mean that the police are justified in executing people who don't comply. Get back up. Let the guy walk off. That's the job.
If you can't understand why people are angry, you're not trying to understand.
One he didn't die.. he is in stable condition.. Two.. so I can just obey the laws or people in authority that I want to and disregard the rest? A civilized society doesn't work like that.. Also when a violent criminal says he has a gun in his car and goes to get something out of his car.. as a police officer, would you wait until he produced it and shot you before drawing your weapon or shooting at him?
So would you still be as upset if he were shot once in chest. You should at least be able to answer that.
The police aren't 'omniscient' either to use your word. I guess you'd be OK if he had reached in, pulled out a gun, shot a couple of officers and then they shot him (as long as it wasn't 7 times in the back).
Haven't cops been basically hamstrung in the responses they can use? Can't hit someone with a baton, can't put them in a choke hold, can't kneel on there back. So ultimately you can't restrain the individual, he breaks away and starts to get in a vehicle and you have no idea what's in the vehicle.
So I guess your solution is just to politely ask someone to comply and if they don't want to just wave at them as they drive off?
Nobody says it's an easy job. I have had close officer friends who have had "altercations" that have led to paid administrative leave. I've seen how difficult it is for these guys to negotiate tough situations. THAT'S THE JOB.
You can't shoot someone because of a potential threat. Once the threat presents itself, you have to do what you have to do.
The fact is that a man with no gun who was not within arms length of the officers was shot in the back 7 times. I can't imagine trying to defend that.
So the person says "I've got a gun in my car" (I don't know if he said that have just heard others indicate it), proceeds to try and get in the car, you don't perceive that as a threat? Do you have to see the gun or weapon first? Do you let him get off the first shot? If he's got a knife and you've got a gun is it OK to shoot?
I'm sorry I'm not "omniscient' either :). Why in the world do you make such a move with multiple guns pointed on you? I think a lot of this has to do with what's been building over the years. Due to rioting etc. people don't think they should follow any police officer's order (request), the police are probably so concerned with being filmed doing something wrong, using a choke hold, kneeling, apply any force to subdue the person that they don't apply that necessary force. I think some years ago the officers would have applied a "heavier" hand. It would look bad but could have prevented what happened. Again I'm by no means happy the guy got shot and do agree 7 times is excessive. Peaceful protests would be understandable.
I do appreciate your rational discussion.
The people who are angry are reacting peacefully.
The people who are reacting with with riots and destruction are animals and enjoy destruction or enjoy what Soros is paying them to destroy.
How will he get the first shot off?
Well, if you allow him to continue resisting and get away from you and go to his car and pull a firearm from the front seat and then turn around with an active trigger finger, he gets the first shot off. When do you react if you are the policeman? When he gets that shot off?
I dunno, I think I would have shot him just like the officer if I felt my life was in danger. I like to return home to my wife and family at the end of the day.
Did this guy have a history of assaulting police? I read that, but just like all these incidents you cannot trust any reporting for at least a couple of weeks. It's all just a bunch of knee-jerk narrative regurgitation, race baiting and wild pontificating (just like I did) until the full facts surface.
I wouldn't be a law enforcement officer for three times the money they pay them. I did try to impress upon my kids the importance of cooperating with the police if they were approached/pulled over....probably saved my son's life.
But none could see what he was grabbing or doing inside the car. He wasn't going to win a confrontation, but he could easily have shot one or two of the officers before they neutralized the threat. Suicide by cop happens all the time.
Horribly difficult job, and easy for everyone to second guess from the living room sofa. I have no idea how they get anyone to do it, because you could either end up dead or in jail for the rest of your life merely by doing your job in attempting to arrest someone. Perhaps they should sent the attorneys and judges out to round up these folks with outstanding warrants. 48 officers were feloniously killed wile on duty in 2019, including three who were "attempting to restrain/control. handcuff the offender(s) during the arrest situations."
If this guy had been running away and they shot him I would be cheering on the prosecution, but he was evading the police while they attempted to arrest him on outstanding warrants and was intent on digging something out of the cab of his vehicle during the confrontation. The police had nanoseconds to determine if his actions represented a threat. Thank heaven I don't have to face that kind of threat every day of my life!
His kids were in the car.
All the more reason for him to have not resisted and to have stayed on the ground when they had him down.

I say it's about damn time for decent people to start fighting back! In this case it was a clear case of self defense. First the good guy was hit multiple times...what did he do, start shooting? Nope! he retreated back up the street...but the evil leftie thugs followed him, chased him down and attacked him again. SELF DEFENSE in this case.
A very astute military leader once said, the best defense is a good offense. Like Napoleon at Marango! The Austrians had his army whipped...at 5PM, and everyone, from his own officers to the Austrians assumed he would retreat. Nope! Not the Little Corporal...he attacked!! and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Years later when things looked bleak for the French, Napoleon would remind them, "At Marango, I lost the battle at 5:00 and won it back at 7:00!"
It is time for good Americans to go on the offensive...declare open season on BLM/Antifa scumbags, with no bag limit.
Anybody posting here ever witnessed a person being shot? Serious question. I have.
Even one non-lethal round from a .38/9mm will inflict substantial damage and will put a man on the ground.
No need to dump seven rounds in that dude’s back while you have him by the shirt tail. None.

“Protesting such brutality is right and necessary," the former vice president said. "It's an utterly American response. But burning down communities and needless destruction is not. Violence that endangers lives is not. Violence that gust and shutters businesses that serve the community is not."

Now that you know it’s a lie, you should stop repeating it.
I am mostly out-of-pocket, up in Colorado, and only have access to decent Internet when in a hotel room with WiFi. Have been doing a lot of driving, looking at properties, meeting with clients and potential clients (hopefully!). News happens fast...you really realize that when you're not tuned in 24/7. BTW...it is awesome up here. 46F with a breeze this morning. Very nice for August weather.
Speaking of weather, how is it down in Louisiana? :icon_roll:
Caught a blurb about a police shooting, something about 7 shots...protests (i.e. riots), don't even know where it happened. Did see something about an incident in Lafayette, I think it was. And a FB video of some fellow trying to pull up to gas pumps at a convenience store and being attacked by thugs.
Just heard Pence’s chief of staff repeat the lie that Biden hasn’t condemned the violence until now.
The democrats and the media continue to insist on glorifying thugs and trying to make heroes out of them. That’s good news for Trump.
The Blake shooting appears to be justified but too early to tell for sure. It also seems all three of the guys shot by the 17 year old Trump supporter had their own issues, not to mention it appears they initiated the conflicts that led to the shootings.
I haven't followed what Biden has said specifically.. what I do know is that all of the democrat members of the Senate Judiciary Committee walked out on a hearing where Ted Cruz was showing the riots and violence in Portland, when given the opportunity by Cruz to denounce the violence in Portland, none of them did.. Guess they didn't want to see that. Also Jerry Nadler even said in an interview that the Portland violence was not real, and was being made up by Republicans and Conservatives.
Well, at least you admit it’s a lie. That’s a big step for you. Congrats.

I’m sure you’ll tell me what’s wrong with it.
Can someone fill me in on the Keosha, Wisconsin shooting? And what happened in Lafayette? Have limited access to Net...sometimes I have a good signal and sometimes I don't. Thanks. Good at the moment but it comes and goes.
Looks like he might've done the police, and society, a favor.

You have to question the intelligence of someone that would take a skateboard to a gun fight.
Kenosha:
Kyle Rittenhouse (17yo Illinois resident) went to Kenosha to LARP/cosplay.
Joseph Rosenbaum (with a group of other rioters) in Kenosha confronted him in front of a boarded up business.
Something unknown happened. I am not 100% sure if Rittenhouse was alone or with others when whatever happened, happened, but it seems he was alone with everything else going on around the incident.
Whatever happened, Rosenbaum then chased (could be characterized as attacked based on the little video there is) Rittenhouse. When cornered, Rittenhouse shot Rosenbaum in the head.
Realizing what he did, Rittenhouse made a phone call to someone, stating "I've just killed somebody." He also began running away from the shooting site and towards a group of police and their armored vehicles.
Other people gave chase of Rittenhouse, screaming he killed someone, trying to get others to tackle him. Rittenhouse kept looking back and eventually tripped and fell down.
While on the ground, one person approached him but backed off. A second person came in and kicked Rittenhouse in the head; and Rittenhouse shot once at him (missed). A third person identified as Anthony Huber came in and hit Rittenhouse with a skateboard. Rittenhouse shot Huber in the stomach. Huber died. A fourth person comes in to try and grab Rittenhouse. Rittenhouse shoots him in the arm. He is the one you here screaming "medic" over and over.
Ritenhouse then gets up, pointing his weapon at the crowd as he walks backwards towards the police, before turning and jogging/walking with his hands up trying to surrender.
The police ignore him and move on everyone else.
Lafayette:
The Louisiana State Police said Lafayette Police were responding to a call of a "disturbance involving a person armed with a knife" at a different location. The LPD confronted Trayford Pellerin there and Pellerin just walked away. He was caring a knife and walked towards a different convenience store. Some LPD were walking/chasing him, telling him to stop, show his hands, get on the ground, standard stuff (presumably just standard stuff; hard to tell over the yapping of the video takers). LPD had used tasers to no effect at some point. Pellerin continued to walk away to the convenience store. Pellerin made a move to open the convenience store door and LPD officers shot him.
Was it Pellerin who was shot 7 times?
Blake was shot seven times.
There is no official number on Pellerin that I've seen. Various statements say 10 to 11 shots were fired. The police were pretty close, so I wouldn't be surprised if all 10 or 11 hit him. But I also wouldn't be surprised if only two or three hit him.

I changed that part a few times. I couldn't confirm the gun with the videos I had so left it as I have it.
Your sentence has nothing to do with the incident; but I agree if that's him.
And by the by, the guy kicking Rittenhouse is the second person to try and confront him while he's on the ground.
Frisco, all of your pics are after the wannabe cop shot the first guy in the head.
I haven't seen any good pics of the first incident/shooting. I have seen a video, but quality wasn't as good as some of the pics posted. I'm only posting pics of what went down. The shooter will have to face the justice system and answer for his actions. It will be up to a jury to determine if first degree murder sticks or not.
Do you think Blake would have been shot if he had complied with officer demands and not gone to his car?
Is Blake the one shot 7 times?
Well folks, ya'll have a good weekend. Taking my 2 chainsaws, gas, water, and headed to Ruston to help with storm cleanup. Massive power outages and Ruston being Ruston, there are pine trees down all over the place. My sisterinlaw has 9 in her yard alone, and cannot get out of her driveway. Mother in law's house is ok, but lots of trees down. Looks like a busy long weekend.

That's some racist MF'ers right there.
When criminals start obeying police when ordered/being arrested then the shootings will stop. Every one of the black men shot were being apprehended
and refused to cooperate and attempted to harm, if possible, the arresting officer.

Kamala Harris - "We must always defend peaceful protest and peaceful protesters. We should not confuse them with those looting and committing acts of violence, including the shooter, who was arrested for murder."
But you can always count on the right wing media to twist her support of the protest movement with support for those she explicitly and repeatedly criticizes.
Biden and Harris are backtracking their silence and joy watching their liberal/Dem states and cities full on cluster. They seem to have lost tragically trying coax Trump into sending troops in on his own. Yes Pelosi and Biden cared nothing of destroying their cities with fires looting and killings. And now a good portion of BLM folks are pissed at these white Bernie Bros and socialist thugs infecting their group. Democrats have overplayed their hand and mini-minds once again.

Scalise blasts Biden for 'looking the other way' amid violence in Democrat-run cities.
Riots are 'being tolerated by the Democrat leadership,' the House Minority Whip contends.
House Minority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., blames Democratic leaders, including presidential nominee Joe Biden, for "unhinged" violence in major cities.
After Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla. -- a double amputee -- and other attendees at President Trump's acceptance speech on the White House lawn claimed they were harassed by protesters afterward, Scalise called the incident "bizarre and concerning."
TRUMP ATTACKS BIDEN, DEMOCRATIC LEADERS AT RALLY, SAYS DC POLICE TOOK 'TREMENDOUS ABUSE' PROTECTING THOSE WHO LEFT RNC
"It's being tolerated by the Democrat leadership right now. Joe Biden has been looking the other way," Scalise said Saturday on "Fox & Friends Weekend." "He's bought in ... to the Bernie Sanders left-wing agenda on all issues, and so I guess on law enforcement it's no different."

Report: Portland Shooting Suspect ‘100% Antifa’; Cited, Released on Weapons Charge in July Riot
https://www.breitbart.com/crime/2020...s-charge-july/
"This president long ago forfeited any moral leadership in this country. He can't stop the violence -- because for years he has fomented it," Biden said. "He may believe mouthing the words law and order makes him strong, but his failure to call on his own supporters to stop acting as an armed militia in this country shows you how weak he is."
"I want to make it absolutely clear. I'll be clear about all of this. Rioting is not protesting. Looting is not protesting. Setting fires is not protesting. None of this is protesting. It's lawlessness. Plain and simple. And those who do it should be prosecuted."
"Violence will not bring change. It will only bring destruction. It's wrong in every way. It divides instead of unites, destroys businesses, only hurts the working families that serve the community. It makes things worse across the board, not better. No, it is not what Dr. King or John Lewis taught. And it must end," he continued. "Fires are burning -- and we have a president who fans the flames."
Now this is words of someone we could all be proud to call POTUS.
Just a few more people who have heeded the President's calling for more violence.

Joe Biden quote of the day...
quote:
‘Covid has taken this year, more than 100 years, Look… the lives, when you think about it!’
Yeah.. the DNC has given the MSM their orders that now all of the riots and protests are Trump's fault.. That genie will not be able to get put back in the bottle. Willie Brown in his column this past weekend even said that the democrats calling the riots "peaceful protests" and not condemning the lawlessness will cement Trump's re-election in November. Don Lemon said last week that the internal polling is very bad for democrats when it comes to the riots and destruction. Democrats own this now.
Whatever. I'm certain the guy may be biased its just nice to know that everyone else out there posting shit isn't. Like I said I saw it on an Instagram feed and that was the only location I could find it on the internet (I'm really surprised its not everywhere). Click, don't click.
Lefties, like Goosey and johnny, applaud such attacks on whities. After all, working...even in an Autozone, WORKING!! that is so offensive to lefties, and the other guy, OMG! just strutting his white privilege by walking down the street. I mean, he was just asking for it! Working? Walking? Stop this racism!
Not mad. Like I said I posted the only place I found it. If it had been on the CNN, New York Times, FoxNews or any other 'main stream' web site I would have posted a link to that one. I just think its interesting that the guy who got shot was live streaming and the discussion going on at the time, particularly him asking Kyle why he was running and he said he was going to get the cops.
I also realize everyone out there is trying to use the social media to their advantage, that includes biasing things to fit their narrative and its coming from both sides. However, when I find stuff that contradicts a question i may have posed I try and correct it. I don't know if it was you who was posting regarding Biden denouncing the protests using a link from May and my asking if there was a more recent one. When I found one from the end of July I posted it.
