You bastard. Why did you let this happen?

I'm not saying things don't need to change -- I'm not even saying Holtz the ability to turn it around after 2-3 years BUT you gotta give the man some time before you come on a public message board acting like a fool with a thread called FIRE HOLTZ. That's unacceptable to me and I think it's bs by our fans to even go there at this point.
This thread has gone round and round in circles -- see quote above -- we lost to Kansas and Army is 2008 as well with a much better team. What made you think we would beat them this year? Just because we beat a lousy Illinois and Virginia team last year, you think it's the norm for us to beat "BCS" teams even with no one returning and new coach? It's rubbish.
I was trusting those in charge and some opinions here as a basis for my excitement at the hire. I am in the camp with those who feel we don't need to waste any more time. His ceiling seems like most coaches basement.
None of us want Holtz to fail, I wish he had a perfect record and was on his way to coach of the year. But the fact remains as easy as it is to say he hasn't had enough time, he is not reinventing the wheel. Here in the real world, where most of us live, you can not be this inept at your job and given two years to figure it out.
Just shows you how sports, and those who make money coaching and playing them, are a whole different animal. If I was only successful 20% of the time at my job, I would get fired in a heartbeat.
You know what they say... cheap Coaches aren't good, and good Coaches aren't cheap. OK, OK thats not how they said it. Well, thats what they meant !!
Sitting in front of Todd, and doing my best to enjoy losing football. Whilst not swearing because at the end of the day whether we win or lose, my kids seem to have a great game time experience every week. The beauty of being a child. Makes you realize there are more important things than winning or losing, I don't know what they are... but the kids have it figured out.
How have you been Matt? I ask Todd about you, he tries to keep me filled in on your Canadian lifestyle.
Both that lousy Illinois and Virginia team would have beaten Tulane, Army, and Kansas by a touchdown a piece. We lose to all 3 by a combination of 31 points and you are just fine with that? I think you are the fan that causes apathy to set in. We are beyond losing to these types of teams these days. These are not the Bicknell days. I didnt bust my ass for 5 years at this school for us to hire a coach to take us back there either. I worked hard, as have many others, to make Tech a respectable program, and losing to these three teams in the manners we have is NOT ACCEPTABLE ANY MORE! Stop telling me to "give him time" 5 games into a season we should have 4 wins in already. We have the talent to beat the teams on our schedule this year and we are not headed in that direction after this string of losses.
Lost in all of this is one other alarming fact. Les Guice headed up the search committee. I have felt from the beginning he is a Reneau clone. Let's see if he can prove me wrong.
I think the silver-tongued devil got him and the committee.

That's debatable. Illinois finished 0 - 8 in the Big 10 and Virginia finished 2 - 6 in the ACC last year. I think Tulane, Army and Kansas this year would give those teams last year a run for their money if not beat them. We have to wait to see how Coach Holtz finishes this year before everybody starts calling for his head. Right now it doesn't look good, I admit, but we can still finish strong. Coach Dykes did leave him in a bad spot.
