In Bossier they do- we only go if we aren't in a hurry, and that doesn't happen very often. Apparently there are lots of people that don't care how long it takes though- the parking lot is large and always full.

Think it will be more than the $550K Camping World offered? I don't.

Announced amount yes...
True "cash" NO -
Shreveport TX welcomes Walk-Ons to the I-Bowl....
Re: Op/Ed: The Independence Bowl is in trouble
Tim Fletcher @FletcherShow 2 minutes ago Walk-On’s Independence Bowl is official... guaranteed 3-year deal (lasts entirety of remaining ESPN contract with @IndyBowl)
Re: Op/Ed: The Independence Bowl is in trouble
So 3 years will get them through the current contracts with the SEC and ACC when most bowls are up for negotiations for new contracts beginning in 2020. Besides the financial sponsorship terms, the big question is "can the Indy Bowl survive 3 more years with ACC/SEC to negotiate smaller payouts to G5 conferences?"
The Indy Bowl is currently in about $1 million of debt, right?
Re: Op/Ed: The Independence Bowl is in trouble
My guess is somewhere in the neighborhood of $300,000 annually in cash and $300,000 in IN-KIND sponsorships...

Of course they do. Why else would it too crowded?

As of Feb. 28, 2017, the I-Bowl had about $1.4 million of "long-term liabilities". The net assets (total assets minus current and long-term liabilities) of the Independence Bowl based on the last audit on Feb. 28th were -$1.24 million.

No Q&A at the press conference. Wow.

Media were allowed to ask questions 1-on-1 after the announcement.
Every media outlet praised the deal as "perfect," "win-win," or "ideal" just like they did for the Duck Commander announcement, but not a single media outlet asked about the financial guarantee... Ya know, kinda the big story when Camping World pulled out. :dunce:
