I don't think so. I think it would be a waste to spend money purchasing a videoboard for a team that can't produce a winning season since 1993. They should just drop football and save the state a few bucks. I mean come on, last year they were selling four tickets, four soft drinks, four hot dogs and a game program for $40 for their "homecoming" game. They had an attendance of 10k.
And 8500 of those were busy being wasted in the Grove. The students I know that still go there say actually going inside the stadium is the equivalent of purposely joining The Mathletes. Thats just all kinds of sad.
All that said, I agree. I-AA would be a better fit. Their baseball team is a better draw than football, which should never be the case. And here I always thought there was a 15,000 average attendance requirement to stay qualified to be a I-A program..? Or am I making things up?
You aren't adding in ulm's north stadium in Little Rock. They have an outstanding home attendance one game every other year. That keeps them alive with attendance.
Plus, they do have a video board, don't they? It is one of those like SFA's "TV on a stand" in the endzone.
On a bit of a related tangent (if that's not an oxymoron), it looks like we'll have to wait a year before we see the virtual sibling of this bad boy show up in the NCAA Football franchise.

Kind of hard to blame them seeing as though it doesn't exist yet and plans for what it will look like have been fairly scarce. Only way they could have done it is if someone internal to the department would have forwarded the plans, dimensions, etc.
The web cam feed is cool. Dooley doing it right, I'm still getting used to it. I guess we had such mediocrity for so long it takes an adjustment to get used to things being done right.

Overcast in Ruston, looks like the entire old scoreboard is gone. I see a whole lot of pipes on the ground.
i cant get the "axis media" to download on the latechsports live feed. using windows explorer, any suggestions.
From: http://www.latechsports.com/sports/m...051309aaa.html"With the addition of Daktronics HD-16 product, Louisiana Tech will have the latest in video technology that is comparable to what many BCS schools have installed in the past few years," said Dan Fjeldheim, Daktronics South Central Region Representative. "Daktronics is very grateful of the opportunity to partner with Louisiana Tech."
By comparison, it will also be almost three times larger than the video board that showed replays of the Bulldogs 17-10 win over Northern Illinois at Independence Stadium in Shreveport.
The board is set to be fully operational by mid-August, a month prior to the Bulldogs home opener in 2009."
