That's not my thinking of it at all. Just don't think this particular article was a "let's see how we can snub Tech" article. All five listed have compelling enough stories: one hype/redemption, two surprise standouts, one overcoming adversity, and one taking the risk of coming back despite possibility of being drafted. Taylor may be the better than all five, but is his story anything beyond "yeah, he's good and plays for Tech!"? You know I'm a homer, but I'm not blinded by it.

One cool deal they have is if you sign up with them they will give you a Roku for free. We had it on our Kids Xbox1 and on an Amazon Fire Stick on the TV in our bedroom.
IIRC you can get ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN News, SEC Network, BeIn, ESPN U, and a few other minor sports channels I never watch. IIRC only ESPN and ESPN 2 come with the package. The other sports channels are part of the sports package which costs an extra $5 a month.
Also I "heard" they just added Fox Sports 1. you might want to research that though because I XLD my service a few months ago and now use DirectTV. It wasn't a bad deal though. I just got a really good deal for the DirectTV.
Roku actually comes free with most new TV's now. It came free on both of the TV's I bought within the last 6 months.

A few who have not been numbed by the SOS or indoctrinated by the purple and yellow machine. The media peeps tend to laugh at them (us) like they have some deeper understanding of the way things should work. Our media are generally low IQ people, but know enough to spew BS. See CNN or MSNBC or examples on a national level.

Yep. I've talked to the president and publisher of The Times a couple times. He's arrogant and just doesn't care. He thinks Tech is unimportant.

So far the work of our new CUSA commissioner has left a lot to be desired.

Just a thought.. Can you be a "player to watch" after having such a great year and now Ryan Higgins as your QB?? Maybe that's a different player to watch list. The bad kind.

She was given a bag of 5#!+ to work with! Networks cutting left & right on staff and "minor" rights. Paying way too much for "major" rights.
I believe the beIN deal will be good for both parties. We are the only American Collegiate conference they will be promoting. We won't have 11am games. They are also picking up basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball. (10+ games for each sport). The numbers haven't been released, but I am guessing they are the Lion's share of our media revenue.
Now the league needs to secure narional advertising for our espn3 slots. I think this could make up for some of our slashed revenue.

Re: Sources: Conference USA TV - ESPN, CBS SN, ASN, beIN Sports
I know you are supposed to watch and listen to sports 24 hours a day but I actually watch and listen to CNBC, Fox Business and Bloomberg in the morning (OK some Sports Talk radio also occurs) but the day is coming that you will order only what you want on the menu at the restaurant not the whole kitchen. When the execs of ABC and other networks are on there and being questioned about their overall declining ratings and dollars made, they don't have an answer.
In the world of college sports TV that means that the total dominance of ESPN will cease to exist. They are already laying off staff and the other networks such as Fox Sports, CBS Sports, etc. are trying to get some of that pie, they are doing so carefully and are even cutting back on their plans to expand. I truly believe that the current business model of the Big Conferences having their butt kissed and dollars thrown at them is on the slow way out. With conferences such as C-USA we are doing the butt kissing and begging for anything to be shown and we will sacrifice home games and decent starting times for what is now an even lower payout. How about we get way ahead of this curve and start to build our own technical infrastructure to support our independent way of broadcasting our events?
Networks such as ASN and beIN are the future, but they are only the bridge of where we need to go. Why can't the schools of C-USA get together and build the C-USA Network and take control of our own future?

ESPN, ABC, Fox, NBC, CBS, dominate the Saturday daytime/nighttime pie. They've filled up the slots and added Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights.
THAT is why I feel the beIn package is a start. No other college league to compete against their futbol (being broadcast from sunup to 1-2 here in the State). Get past the political attachment of Al-Jaz ownership and we at least may be able to rebuild our GameDay attendance and, maybe, just maybe, not have 11:30 am kickoffs shoved down our throats.

This is a HUGE piece of the puzzle to us
