Well, I am TOTALLY upset!! I had won a $10 gift card to Frothy Monkey and hadn't gotten around to using it. Good grief! The one time my number has ever been drawn for anything. :bigcry:

Frothy Monkey did indeed shut down yesterday. I do think that Overpriced Burned Coffee (aka Starbucks) cost them a lot of business.

I think "location" has the biggest to do with it...some businesses just aren't made to succeed in a downtown environment. For a business (like a coffee shop) to be successful, it has to rely on ample parking close to the doors, drive-thrus, and/or lots of walking traffic....Frothy Monkey had none of these.

this is true. had it been a block or so off of campus it would still be open.

Cracker Barrel will CLEAN UP in Ruston. I've thought they needed one for years. An IHOP would make a killing too.

My source said that her "reliable" source said it was going next to SantaFe Steak house. I'll believe they are both coming to Ruston when I see it.

Whoever is putting these fake "Coming Soon" signs up around town needs to quit....it's no longer funny!

Someone very close to the situation told me a different story about Frothy Monkey. I was told that it had nothing to do with traffic, sales, or competition. He said it was something, probably legal, that he is not at liberty to disclose. He said it will be public knowledge before long.
