Nobody wants to walk that far. Although, could be a good use for campus golf carts during the day.

I think Tech/Ruston/Biz Association should have busses. Get the smaller busses (Shreveport has a lot running around instead of the large busses). I think 3/4 busses would be plenty. During the day the routes would be from residential/JAS/other extreme parking lots to areas of campus (with 1 going to businesses). At night, the could go from residential to businesses (with 1 going around campus). On gameday, the busses could be used to shuttle from campus parking to JAS.

Ain't that bad, my wife walked further going to graduate school at Arkansas. With all the trees planted, the students need to take in all the beautiful "noble" trees on their pleasant walks.
Thy pleasant walks, thy noble trees

The hills on the Fayetteville campus are murder to my Louisiana flatlander bones.
A little stroll never hurt anyone.

CED, the electrical supply house on Hwy. 33 across from Raceway, is moving there. The McDonald’s on the service road is buying the land where CED is located now on Hwy. 33 and will build a new location there. I believe the service road location will close and be torn down.

Do you know what is planned for the northwest corner of Exit 86? (the old Stuckey house).

Yes, I asked one of the partners and they are building a truck stop. They are still negotiating with the different fuel providers to see who comes forward with the best deal. That corner really looks different as they are taking down the trees. Ruston is really changing. You drive around town and there are TONS of projects and improvements going on.

What is going in by Hot Rod? Corner of 33 and Trade Drive. It’s been a lot of things over the years. Or are they just remodeling?

Looks to me like they are remodeling to make it more attractive to potential businesses. It looked pretty bad before.

Was told today a Popeye’s will be built and not a new McDonald’s. Was a pretty reliable source (not that you are not), so do you know which is correct? Had been talking just the other day with people who live up 33 and said all we needed was a chicken place—not that we can’t make it to Cane’s—since we have pizza, Mexican, bbq, roast beef, sonic burgers, ZBuffet, fish, doughnuts, log cabin, portico, breakfast, etc.

Is something moving into the old Alpine building on Hwy. 80? There was a lot of activity there today.

Addiction recovery center, maybe. Not sure if I heard that or just made it up.

Update: Leg32ds cigar shop is very overpriced, with a middling selection (not horrible, not great), and a nice interior if you ignore the lsu jerseys on the wall. I didn't stay to smoke.

What about the Whisky selection?

Don't think they have any as far as I'm aware. It's pretty hard to get a tobacco and liquor license for a smoke shop in Louisiana apparently.
