I will always be a Techster fan - no matter what. They showed that we could play on the biggest stage and were the only true dynasty that Tech has ever had on that level. That deserves my full support. I love Spoon, but will support the new coach and hope that person can get us back on track.

I always say, America was its strongest in the Leave it to Beaver Days, where Americans had pride in their jobs, families had supper together and thanked The Lord for his blessings, parents talked to teachers to get the details on a story instead of believing everything their 9 yea old says, etc... So, you telling me that champ110, is a complement. Thanks... I'm beating a dead horse... I still don't think having a lesbian coach and the type of "atmosphere" that it brings is conducive to what I want at my alma mater... Of course, I would expect you to bring the gay/black issue up, that is usually a last resort side to take... GO TECHSTERS!

God created "us" in a state of perfection. We literally had one rule and we couldn't do it. That act affected all of humanity. From then on, our desires and "nature" were irreparably damaged. That is the true context of this discussion. The arguments that we are born with proclivities to one act or another are weak. My proclivity is not toward monogamy. Were I to "embrace" that, I would be almost universally condemned in our culture. We're all born with a proclivity to sin, so our "nature" is a poor justification for lifestyle choices.

How this plays out in the public square is something different. I don't demand that all our coaches have my particular belief system. That said, Spoon had created a culture that was unhealthy. Rooster would prefer that we not embrace the sub-culture in WBB. You can call that intolerant if you want, but ultimately, in stating that, you're intolerant too…which is fine, just don't act like you're not (not you in particular Chris, just in general…cough…kiwi).

IF Spoon created a culture that was unhealthy, it had nothing to do with her being a lesbian. Lesbians don't automatically create unhealthy cultures in WBB. Check out MOST of the programs in this country.

IF Spoon created that unhealthy culture, it was because of a lack of coaching ability or a character flaw, not her orientation. Here is what this comes down to for me: "God" isn't part of basketball. YOU may think God should be part of basketball, but God is not. God is a concept and belief that you have the RIGHT to believe in because you live in America. Your belief in your God is a right. It isn't something that you get to impose on the rest of us. You get to go to church and worship and believe how you want. That is your right. But that is where your rights end when it comes to God. You don't have the right to impose YOUR God and YOUR beliefs on the rest of us. As Americans, we are all to be treated equally, not differently because YOUR faith and YOUR God seem to say that being gay is a worse sin than all the others. I have no issue with you believing gays are bad or sinful or responsible for an immoral culture. You can believe that all you want. You simply do not have the right to deny equal treatment to another tax-paying American citizen because your FAITH backs you up. God is something you believe in. Not everyone does. But, we do all live in America, and in America, we espouse to equality for all.
