Yes, he would still get the football scholarship benefits along with others he earns. I doubt it is about money. If it is a preferred walk on offer, Tech is putting itself in the same place as one of service academies, yet they don't guarantee as much as the service academies do.

Yes and to continue the progress and rise to the next level like his brother.

On the USM interview before the I-Bowl on the radio broadcast, He stated that he also had picked up players from the JuCo ranks to fill needs in his program...
I'd say we did very well picking up some awesome LB's for next year!
Re: Recruiting Class of 2018
Haven’t seen this posted anywhere but here is a name that Bulldog fans might recognize. Conner Lee. Younger brother of a pretty good football player for the Dawgs a few years back and in a very similar situation. Texas 6-5A defensive MVP 2 years in a row and 1st team all-state as a LB and no real offers to speak of. Great kid and seems to be a great leader. How do we get him some consideration?

Re: Recruiting Class of 2018
Listed at 6’0 210, he may actually be a linebacker recruit. We need HS linebackers. Running backs aren’t hard to find.
Re: Recruiting Class of 2018
This is a no brainer. Offer him NOW! If he's half the player Hunter was, he'd be a great addition to our team.

And half the human being. Don’t personally know Hunter; just what I remember.
I have always said I want the high character even if slightly less talented player.
Re: Recruiting Class of 2018
I would at least offer him as a preferred walk on . If he is like Hunter he will earn a scholarship and will make his teammates better by example. If we are full at linebacker he can contribute on special teams and who knows he might make a full back for short yardage, or a slot receiver to go over the middle. He will not mind the contact. I have soft spot for Hunter and feel he was not fully utilized.

How have we not offered this kid?

As of last week,
No scholarship offer.
No walk on offer at all.

Pretty sure he is a LB in HS. His stats are not very impressive.

..or maybe just reach out to him and ask him try to walk on. It does not have to be a "preferred walk on offer".
Re: Recruiting Class of 2018
If all commits sign we will have 43 scholly players on Defense. Thats adding only one D Tackle and nothing else in the late period. Havent figured Offense yet. Only counting guys recently mentioned as returning.
Re: Recruiting Class of 2018
That kid is a tackling machine. He’s going to make someone a really good LB.
