Makes sense now. I thought it was too early in the process to lay down the frame of the jumbotron.

Looked like they were having trouble getting started, so being the pipe laying expert I am, I gave them a few pointers.:icon_wink:

I've actually started using Windoze again just so I can use this bad boy until it comes out for Linux. If all you do is browse the web, it is perfect. The only thing I miss from Firefox is the mouse shortcuts, but I'm getting over that, too.
There is no reason, however, anyone should be using Internet Explorer.
Re: First Look at the Jumbotron
Went by the stadium at 12:30 today and watched them cut up the old scoreboard I-beam support structure. They had almost everything but the board itself loaded onto a truck by the beginning of the doubleheader.
Many already know this, but the paint in Joe Aillet Stadium looked great, the field turf still looks brand new, Argent Pavillion looks fine, Thomas Assembly Center has been freshly scrubbed/painted, the future Lake Reneau is almost cleared of trees, several new apartment buildings are built by TAC, Tech Drive is smoothly paved, JC Love @ PPP shines, and a bunch of construction is going on at Lambright. I was VERY IMPRESSED with what I saw!

And just to think, two years ago all this was deemed completely impossible and/or unnecessary.

I think the problem is that it was deemed "work" :)

just drove by -
Eisenhower-tron is G.O.N.E.
and MAN our athletics facilities look a million times better than they did even 3 years ago.
Re: First Look at the Jumbotron
Wasn't the Jumbotron budgeted before all these other budget cuts started happening?

Yep. Current issue of the Tech Talk says that Tech couldn't have redirected the facilities improvement money to cover the budget cuts, even if they wanted to.
Hence, why our campus is experiencing unprecedented upgrades and repairs during a budget crisis.

They started this week working on the Visual Art Building?...the one that is next to the CAB....interfered with me getting to class....but I was wondering why all this stuff was going on while we were in these hard economic times.

Same reason Tech Drive got re-paved with "surplus" money.
