My office manager was pulling into the McDonalds drive through for breakfast this morning and allowed a car to pull in line ahead of her. When she got to the window to pay for her food she was told that the lady in the car in front of her (that she let in) had paid for her meal.
Don't hear stuff like this often.

We got some hand-me-downs from some friends in Ruston a few years ago (Tech alum, no less) and there was a ton of lsu crap in it. I cut the logos off and discarded them and used what was left for rags.

I dunno. I kind of like that he's going to have to tell this story over and over again.
So what happened?
We knocked on his door. When he opened it, we rushed him and hit him in the head with a bat hard enough to open his head up.
And then what happened?
He shot the other two guys and I ran away.
That's a pretty tough guy.

The lady and son who live in the condo unit next to me haven't paid their mortgage or condo association fees in three years. Their bank moved to foreclose on them, but messed up the paperwork. So, the association has decided to send them an ultimatum which describes financial assistance programs to take advantage or face eviction.
And today, they're moving new furniture into the unit which they claim has been in storage this whole time.
I don't see that situation ending any way but badly.

Gotta love Terry Bradshaw. Watching the SB pregame show and he was joking with Jerome Bettis when he was talking about winning a championship close to home, Terry says "on behalf of Louisiana Tech, we were extremely disappointed when you chose Notre Dame over us." To which Bettis responds "That was my second choice." One of the best promoters we have.

Something like that. It's actually a pretty sweet gig.
One of the perks is the ability to play the course, but we have to wait at least two weeks after. I was out there today for a bit and followed David Duval.
Day 1: Retief Goosen doesn't yell when he's about to plug you with a golf ball, so heads up.
Day 2: Actual conversation...
"We flew in to watch Martin Kaymer play."
"Really? Where'd you fly in from?"
"Germany. You Americans only know the hotspots, Iraq and Afganistan."
"Actually, there was as a bunch of us over there a few years ago. You happen to remember why?"
The guy actually insulted me to my face for being American IN America.
Day 3: Was my day off. It's way more fun to watch as a fan.
Day 4: There were some great shots into the second green. This was the first hole I worked that had a scoreboard in sight. It was cool to see all the stats we were recording get posted nearly instantly.

I had surgery done on my arm again last monday. They're not entirely sure how, but think it was because of how long I was on the op table and bed ridden, combined with negative side effects of the anesthesia. Was a pretty bad week, and still not "cured".

I need some help accurately identifying and getting some info on the red Colonial Flag on the bottom right of this picture. Despite it's name and description, I can't find anything on it and the book it's from isn't in any of the local libraries (not surprising since it was printed in 1880). If anyone can help, it'll be greatly appreciated.

Played a form of kickball for the first time in probably 20-something years last night.
20 years was too long, kickball is pretty fun.
Played girls vs. boys (there were more boys, so the girls got the teachers on their team - which didn't necessarily help all that much). The boys were more athletic, the girls played smarter (and won).

Shouldn't be suprising, it is an absolutely awesome show. Plus, being around in some form for 40+ years does that. It looks like it is just getting better and better. The new series is 4 episodes in and has been absolutely amazing. The TARDIS "talked"!!!

Is From Russia with Love the best Bond movie? I'm thinking yes, but I haven't seen it in a while (recently read the book - which is a little different from the movie, but still pretty good). Reading Dr. No now - it's not the best Bond movie (or book), but it probably has the most memorable Bond moment.
Didn't we have a "best Bond movie" thread at one time?

I once complained to Delta in a survey because I had to sit next to an extremely obese woman on a packed flight. Her fat rolls encroached so far onto my seat that, for all practical purposes, she sat in my lap for three hours. Nothing became of the complaint.

I'm flying to Evansville, Indiana in June. For the first time in many years, I'll be flying from Shreveport. It was the lowest fare (by several dollars over Monroe) and by quite a bit over all the other airports.
My normal fare search area is all airports from Alexandria to Little Rock and Jackson, MS to DFW. Historically, Shreveport is never the lowest, and it has usually been so much higher that I drive somewhere else to start and end my trip.

What I was wondering about. How good can a burger be? Depends on how hungry you are, not how expensive it is.

For a "fast food" burger it would be tough to beat, but it is not a gourmet burger. Will set you back over 10 bucks for a regular cheeseburger (with all the toppings you want), plus french fries and a coke. You can also eat as many roasted peanuts as you want, but who cares? You can get some really good gourmet burgers in town for the same price (like from Vortex or Flip Burger).

I came across a Red $ox fan yesterday wearing a ULL hat. He was standing in front of me in the "Season Ticket Holder only" line at Tropicana. I'm not sure if it was the Red $ox part or the ULL part that gave him trouble reading, but I asked him if he went to ULL. I told him I would quote him on this, but he replied "Yes, but I cheer for LSU."
It's like it's an excuse. Don't think less of me for going to ULL, I cheer for LSU.
