We didn't turn down the Indy Bowl. We just didn't immediately accept their invitation.

The storyline is not that we couldn't get a bowl invite because we did, it's that the WAC is dissolving and has only one bowl tie-in and we had no conference or other support group to champion us. It's very much like being an independent.

If we wanted an assured bid to a quality bowl (Indy doesn't qualify), we needed to finish higher than third in the WAC or had a quality win, and not been dead last in the nation in defense. Dykes are you listening?

That's not what the storyline will be outside of Tech. It will be "Tech thought they were too good for the Independence Bowl so they are sitting home."

But you can't blame BVDV for not jumping all over an Independence Bowl invite, IF he KNEW there was a 100% chance of getting another bowl game. If not, he's a moron.

Not happy with Dykes right now but if it weren't for Dykes we wouldn't be 9-3 to begin with.

Correct...we didn't even win a game against a winning team...didn't finish 1st or even 2nd in our own conference...what good does 9-3 do...

I have heard no bowl. Its a done deal. We said no to I bowl with no back up plan or other bowl in place.
