Not sure I liked this connection.

Iran
They have a respected coach who’s turned a lot of bad teams into decent teams, but hasn’t gone beyond that. Iran is wherever Skip Holtz is at the moment. Iran is Louisiana Tech.

Drunken, celebrating Russian fans (really, just one idiot) sexually assaulted a female reporter during a live TV segment.
On a side note, Kate Abdo is nice eye candy:

Ronaldo just scored again, 4th min...Portugal 1 Morocco 0 very early. He has taken 5 shots so far this WC Final. He's 4 of 5 so far!
Oops! 4 of 6, just missed wide.
Will any of these futbol matches feature Tech vs. NLU?
Argentina is going down in flames! Typical Messi moping around, feeling sorry for himself. Bye bye to the Rocking Maradonas!
I'm confident in saying the USMNT could beat Argentina right now.
Messi isn't anywhere close to the Messi of old.
I think I'm officially on the Croatia bandwagon. The way they play is amazing to watch.
Costa Rica on the big stage today....vs. Brazil.
After being hammered by Serbia, need to see CR bounce back with a great match against one of the elites...although this isn't your father's Brazil. They are just above mediocre on the world stage, not even a legit Top 10 side. Still it is Brazil, so...
CR was clearly in the top 2 in CONCACAF this cycle, and they have looked really good vs. other world sides. Just like I (we) like to see fellow CUSA teams fair well vs. P5s and other top programs in bowls, the NCAAs, so too I like to see CONCACAF sides stand up vs. soccer's best. Most importantly, I want to see the real CR show up today. They play quality soccer. Let's see it!
Nope! 2-0 Brazil, both added time goals, but CR was barely hanging on by its fingernails playing for a 0-0 draw. Finally broke.
The Serbia vs. Brazil match should be awesome! Both teams like to push the pace.
But, CR's dismal showing is depressing. Speaks to really how weak CONCACAF is, or at least, how weak it was this cycle. Costa Rica kicked our azz this last go-around, swept us by a combined score of 6-0 (or maybe 6-1). They dominated play against us. And yet....while losing to two good sides, not great, but good, they have come up a crapper in the WC Finals thus far.
Panama looked horrendous in its opening match, and will likely exit with zero points. Of course, they backed in, the recipient of our gift to them. Honduras was bounced in the play-in match, so CONCACAF has only 3 teams in the Finals. We almost always have 4. There is a third CONCACAF representative in the Finals, but I don't speak of them when I can help it.
Sometimes one has to hit rock bottom before you are inspired to really make changes. That is very true in sports. Often people are okay with mediocrity, they'll rationalize disappointing results with, "well, we're doing fine," "we're not the worst team, and we're better than most!" Blah, blah, blah... that was so true with our MNT. If we had gotten a result vs. T&T we'd be in Russia, and while we would be performing better than Panama, it would've been the same old tired mediocre play of Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore, a porous back line, and a midfield who wouldn't know what "possession" meant if you taped the ball to 'em.
That loss to T&T might have done more for the USMNT than many think. Now, we need the right leadership to make lemonade from those lemons.
