Re: Comments That Don't Warrant A Thread
My wife is an interpreter and just took a call for a client who was calling to get her insurance company to pay for a rental car while she has the oil changed in her car. She kept insisting that her insurance has coverage for rentals, so why wouldn't they rent her a car!
Re: Comments That Don't Warrant A Thread
While in Ruston for the season opener, a student walked up to say hi during my postgame meal at Canes. He approached me to reply to an email he had received from me through Dr. Corley in which I volunteered to speak at an ASME meeting. On a quick sidenote, ASME is always looking for guest speakers of any kind (I know, I did a lot of searching). Immediately, I was curious how anyone could recognize my face from an email. It turns out this student recognized me from hearing me speak at the Career Day that I worked to organize at my high school.
I'm not trying to sound like I'm bragging or anything. More the point of all this is that taking the time to work with high school students is good for everyone. Tech has the benefit of another student who might not have come. The student has the benefit of a better understanding of what field he or she might be interested in and perhaps a better understanding of which direction to take for life.
So, for anyone who has this opportunity, I encourage you to take advantage of it. In fact, any current Tech students who might be reading this, I highly encourage you to call your high school and ask about setting up an event for recent graduates of your high school to go back and talk about your field of study, your university, and anything else you wish (or you're glad that) someone had told you.
Re: Comments That Don't Warrant A Thread
AG that is probably the best way to advertise Tech that I have come across on this board. The number of HS students you could reach would be huge and more credible than an old administrator. This is the way to go for building Tech. Good on Ya AG.

My fantasy team has either San Diego or Tennessee's defense. Which one should I start this week?

Go with the Bolts!
Now I have a question for you: For my WR3, who should I start:
DJ Hackett
D Bennett
J Jones (GB)
M Furrey
B Marshall
Unfortunately I have D Brees as my QB and after the stinker he put up last night I need a monster performance from everyone else if I expect to win Week 1

Actually I'm leaning toward Hackett or Jones, Jones caught everything Favre threw his way in the preseason and Driver is gimpy and Jennings stunk it up. Favre will throw to the same reciever if he is catching the ball and Favre will throw a bunch against Philly.

Thanks, that's what I was leaning toward.
And you DEFINITELY don't want any advice from me about your fantasy team! My biggest hope this week is that McNair shows his age real early so Boller will get some PT. :bigcry:
If I'd have done HALF as well on QBs as I did on kickers I'd be okay. I picked up Stover and Feely (starting Stover, of course).

I can't. But I'm more of a drummer than a percussionist. :o
Re: Comments That Don't Warrant A Thread
Boise fans, real or fake, should be banned from all football games that do not have Boise participating in them.

Re: Comments That Don't Warrant A Thread
Why does everyone have to start a new thread in the football forum just because they feel like saying something? Can't some of those thoughts be consolidated into a few threads instead of three pages worth?
