Actually, I was not being sarcastic this time. But after this last Saturday, I think I am going to stick with my heavier beers. Beers SHOULD be filling.

I'm interested in trying a heavier beer than the usual ones I have. I just dont want to buy something and just end up pouring it out. Is there a good "beginner" heavy beer?

There are tons of good ones, but finding then in N.La will be hard. What is your normal beer of choice?

Coors Banquet to be precise. And that was a mistake.

Well... my standard beer is either Bud Light or Coors Light. Although Every weekend I try to get a six-pack of something new. Abita Amber, Purple Haze, Turbodog. Sam Adams Octoberfest, Summer Ale...
Trying to broaden my horizons.

Which of the Abitas/Sam Adams did you like and which did you not like?

The only Abita I've tried and did not like was the Jockamo IPA. It was a few years ago but I remember It was disgusting and it took everything I had keep one down. I love all other Abitas. I've been intrigued by the Andygator.

So, it is safe to assume you do not like hoppy beers - perhaps you have an aversion to the bitterness. When I first started getting really interested in beers, IPAs became one of my favorite styles. You have probably figured out that you need to stay away from those (at least for the time being).
What is you opinion of Guinness?

Hmm....Honestly, the only one I've had was used in an Irish Car Bomb at a bachelor party. Dont really remember the flavor too much. :)

Most of the styles I like have a fairly strong hop presence. IPAs, Imperial Stouts, Pilsners, Belgian Tripels. I probably would not have liked these initially.
Have you tried Blue Moon yet?
You would probably like Chimay Blue, Lefthand Milk Stout (which you probably cannot get in La), Octoberfests (from various brewers), Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout.
If you like coffee, you might like some of the coffee stouts, as well.
If you want to swing by my tailgate next weekend, you can sample the stuff I bring in.

Yeah I forgot too add, Blue Moon is one of my favorites. I tried a Harvest Moon a few weeks ago and loved it. I might just have to stop by next weekend.

I tried this for the first time tonight. I think I like it.
