Covid - 19

Amy Klobuchar's husband's life was saved when he was given HCQ for the virus. He was in really bad shape and had been very sick for several days before he was given the HCQ. They were getting close to putting him on a ventilator. It usually works best when given as early as possible, but, there are also many stories of people getting it just before they go on a ventilator and they get well. Laura Ingraham had several doctors on her show that had seen very good results with it. I doubt if they showed this on CNN.:o

You don’t know that it was HCQ that made him improve. Folks will improve without HCQ as well. The large randomized clinical trials showed it didn’t work. Anecdotal evidence doesn’t prove causality for drug therapies - that is not how medicine or science works. That is why they do randomized studies - to rule out the other factors that influence outcomes.

The governor of Ohio today released HCQ so that the doctors can use it on their patients that want it. You won't hear that on CNN.

It wasn’t even the governor. It was the pharmacy board responding to tons of hate mail from people saying that the pharmacy board’s restriction interfered with doctor-patient relationship. No doubt these people watch FoxNews.

Sounds like some people are loaded up on stocks of some pharma companies trying to hedge their bets..

Yeah...why not let doctors and patients decide what's best for them? HCQ has been used SAFELY for decades and has been used SAFELY in recent months as a treatment for the China Virus. It's like someone saying, hey! give patients Pepto-Bismol, it works for the China Virus. Doctors could say, really? Well, it certainly won't hurt the patient...

I know, Goosey, you narcissist you, that you think doctors need to check in with you. Well, they have medical degrees and you played lacrosse....

I trust doctors to look at the research, the reports, and at results and make the best possible decisions for their patients.

I don’t disagree that doctors should be allowed to take care of their patients.

Most doctors currently won’t prescribe HCQ for COVID because they know what the studies say. But there are plenty of other doctors out there too. Including some that watch FoxNews and are not driven by the best scientific evidence. I am sure you are shocked to learn this.

No randomized clinical trial data yet, but also not that promising. If I were getting treatment I would opt for something that has actually been shown to help.
