Re: Comments That Don't Warrant A Thread
Daylight savings is bad.
I don't see why they can't get the House to take this up. Cleared the Senate with no objections. I do wish they'd stick to Standard Time instead of making Daylight Savings time permanent, but at this point just pick one and stick with it.

Much ado about nothing. Takes me all of a couple of days to adjust each time. It's been a couple of days, I'm all set now. Personally, I like the more daylight at "the end of the day." Of course, as we move into summer the "days" get longer naturally with more daylight vs. nighttime. But, I'm okay with the time change regardless.

I'm excited about the eclipse and all - but the price gouging is something to behold.
Gas station I pass often jumped like 30 cents/gallon overnight. Crazy.

if it keeps them from running out of gas and leaving people stranded it will be worth it.

In Ireland this week. It’s pretty great, except even here I can’t get away from LSU bandwaggoners.

I was in Ireland last month. It was great not feeling obligated to go or watch Tech games due to the fact it start at 1 or 2 in the morning.
Re: Comments That Don't Warrant A Thread
This is 15 years late, but I remember meeting an older man in the original south endzone facility during hafltime. I believe he had been working the chains or sidelines of some type of official capacity. He mentioned he had been doing it since the old stadium. I vaguely remember that he was a WW2 veteran and possibly I remember him saying he was in Iwo Jima but it could have been another Pacific battle.
Am I just creating a fake memory or does this person sound familiar to anyone?

Your memory is working fine. The person’s name is Junior Roach. He is a WWII vet. He was a fixture on the chain gang at the Joe forever. His failing health forced him to give up the chain gang. Eventually he moved to Shreveport to be near his daughter. I do not know whether he is still living or not.t

I think that man should get some kind of commemoration or recognition for all that he has done then.

That will be the next date with the whole year, yes. But it will considerably longer before we get another date in mm/dd/yy that gives us the Pythagorean equation.
