Under obummer the US economy sank to 4th largest in the world for a spell. It did recover, no thanks to obummer/biden, but it never should have tanked in the first place. So no, no surprise that the GDP is down under biden.

I knew one of our resident know-nothings would jump on the headline number without looking at the components.

Two of the three factors driving the number down you would normally be an advocate for. The third factor is better than the alternative.

Two big “drags” on the headline come from reduced government spending and net exports (the ships at the port are now being unloaded). The third is reduction in inventories, and increasing inventories are what cause job-losing recessions.

I knew some know nothing would show up to spin why black is white, up is down, and stupid is smart.

Well then! according to Goosey let's hope the GDP continues to tank. If a 1.4% decrease is good, a 14% decrease has to be 10X better!

The numbers were good enough. Consumer spending, the bedrock of US economy was up 2.7%, inflation adjusted. So what if the government spending is down and those imports aren’t sitting in the harbor any longer. Those are positives, too, right?
