Not so fast. As you can tell by this here calendar, every possible holiday has already been invented. And if you can think of one, well then good for you. You deserve a holiday of your very own.

If not for nougat, what would we fill our candy bars with? More caramel, nuts, peanut butter and wafers? Oh, all right then. That sounds delicious. But nevertheless, let's give thanks for nougat.

Spinach Festival Day

The calendar year is filled with spinach festivals all over the country, at all different times. On this particular date, in 1937, spinach growers in Crystal City, Texas erected a statue of spinach-loving Popeye to celebrate the staple crop of the local economy.
