Well, apparently she was gone by the time I showed up.:(
Either that or she aged and gained 40 pounds?
Good Friday occurs two days before Easter Sunday in the United States. It is the day when Christians commemorate Jesus Christ's crucifixion, which plays an important part in the Christian faith.
Passover begins (Sundown until Friday, 4/13)
April 6th, 2012
Passover is a Jewish holy day and festival that is celebrated over 7 or 8 days and commemorates the narrative of the Exodus and the endurance of Jewish people throughout history. During Passover, no bread is eaten and thus Matzo is the primary symbol of the holiday.
National Sorry Charlie Day
April 6th, 2012
Charlie the tuna just couldn't get a break. All he ever wanted was to be a Starkist tuna, but even with his snazzy specs and comedic outlook, he just wasn't bait worthy. Today we sympathize with our gilled buddy, as we've all been rejected at one time or another. But we won't let it get us down because, as Charlie can tell you, there are plenty of other fish in the sea.
National Caramel Popcorn Day
April 6th, 2012
Caramel popcorn is a regular snack of fundraising carnivals, ice cream socials and the mall's food court. A sticky sweet alternative to its salty cousin, caramel corn can be tricky to make, which is just all the more reason to celebrate. Not only is it readily available -- it's a gourmet delicacy!

Only 8 Days til the Spring Game :D
National No Housework Day
April 7th, 2012
Keeping up with the housework is overrated. You can spend your whole weekend making your place look spotless, but by Wednesday you're right back to where you started. How did the kitchen get so messy when all you made was a sandwich? And how is the hamper already overflowing? Who's wearing all these clothes anyway? Today just put down the broom, pick up the remote, and let the dust bunnies fall where they may.
Easter
April 8th, 2012
Kids everywhere will wake up this morning to see the basket full of candy the Easter bunny left for them. Other secular traditions include dying eggs and participating in egg hunts. Easter is a Christian holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus and is observed with church service and a feast with loved ones.
Draw a picture of a bird day
Kick it old school by tracing the outline of your hand and, ta-da, you have a turkey. Gobble gobble. Or draw a couple of squiggles over a beach scene to represent seagulls. Drawing a picture of a bird is easy. Unless you want it to look like a real bird.
National All Is Ours Day
April 8th, 2012
Okay so as of this morning it appears that all is ours, and since no one mentioned who gets what, it looks like we're just going to have to share everything. So who wants to get the first shift test-driving the sports cars? And who wants to spend that time jumping from bed to bed in the mattress store? Great. Now, I know this isn't fun, but someone has to clean up after the giraffes. If you do this then you get to spend the next hour in the bulk candy section and you can be a team captain in the paintball tournament after lunch.
Vesahka (Buddha's Birthday)
April 8th, 2012
While this holiday is sometimes referred to as Buddha's Birthday, it actually celebrates his birth, enlightenment and death. It is observed by making ceremonial offerings to The Buddha of flowers or candles, listening to talks by monks, and making special effort to bring happiness to the less fortunate. In Japan, Buddha's Birthday is always celebrated on this date, but in the Indian subcontinent and China, the date varies according to the lunar calendar.
