Goodness, it wasn't that long ago that posters on here were trying to figure out how we might possibly get a permanent tie-in with the Indy.
Okay. There were 72 bowl eligible teams and 70 bowl spots. If we are out completely, that means two of the following are going to a bowl: MTSU, WKU, and CMU. Which two of those are going bowling if we have nothing?
Not the issue. Bottom line is worse teams are bowling. We were 4-8 and losing to teams like Idaho and a 4-8 Utah St. Since going 4-8 we have won 5 then 8 now 9 games. We aren't where we wanna be yet but the improvement is big and undeniable. Our pitiful bowl situation is much more a reflection on our shitty conference than it is on our school, team or coaches.
We should have a permanent tie in with the I Bowl! What are these knuckleheads thinking?
would that really surprise any of you that much? Arguably the best offense in the country was left out of 3 straight bowl seasons in the late 90's. We all remember that. They know we don't travel that well and we lost our last 2 games in absurd fashion. The best offense in the country may spend the holiday's with their families. If so, lesson learned, fire the DC, handle your crap, dictate your own fate.
FWIW, Quinton Patton just posted the following on his Twitter account. https://twitter.com/4_Turnt_Up

There are probably other teams that didn't beat any good teams and are still in a bowl. That argument won't fly.
