Re: 2014 Football Schedule & TV Channel Finder
I thought 2016 was in Ruston and 2015 & 2017 in Starkville?

Ah, I think you might be right. Must have gotten my years mixed up. Regardless, they won't come. The buyout is way too low.

Yes, that is correct.

I've posted a link to MS St scheduling philosophy - they like 2-for-1 so they don't have to pay a lot. Now espn might want to help them buy out and get them big name opponent

I don't believe our deal with them was a 2-1. The last game in Starkville is a money game isn't it?

Louisiana Tech head football coach and athletics director
Derek Dooley announced the extension of the football series against Mississippi State beginning in 2011.
Louisiana Tech will play Mississippi State in Starkville on Sept. 24, 2011 for a guarantee of $700,000, the largest guarantee that Mississippi State has ever paid an opponent. Tech will return to Starkville on Sept. 15, 2012 for the return of the home-and-home series begun in 2008 when Louisiana Tech defeated Mississippi State in Ruston, 24-14, in the first meeting between the two schools.
The extended two-for-one series will begin in Starkville on Sept. 12, 2015 with Mississippi State returning that game in Ruston on Sept. 17, 2016. Louisiana Tech will then make another trip to Starkville on Sept. 9, 2017 and Tech will receive an additional bonus of $500,000 for that game.
Louisiana Tech pays $300,000 to buy out of 2012 football game versus Mississippi State
Re: 2014 Football Schedule & TV Channel Finder
A home-and-home, plus a one-off, plus a two-for-one.
It's basically a 2-for-4 stretching over 10 seasons.
Re: 2014 Football Schedule & TV Channel Finder
I'd be tickled if Techs OOC sked was filled with P5 2-for-1s.
Work it right and you could bring a home game with a name-brand opponent each year.

Okay, I remember now. Had in my mind the last game was a money game, but it's a bonus payout.

It was hard to keep up with all of BVDV's shenanigans.

So Dak Prescott will be a junior when Miss State comes back to Ruston.

Tech-UAB game will be on CSN Chicago (DirecTV 665).
TV talent working the UAB at FAU game (Ron Thulin on play-by-play and Keith Moreland on color) said they would be in Birmingham next Saturday.

"Talent" is kind of a strong word ...
Re: 2014 Football Schedule & TV Channel Finder
Ron Thulin does a great job -
He is the studio host of the CUSA Showcase which airs each week and recaps all the sports activity of the week
