When do individual game tickets go on sale? That will be the real sign of what to expect. You will know the first week they start selling them.

OMG! For the love of Pete, please explain to me how you came to that conclusion.

Tell us how him playing for Southern in the 90's has anything to do with Southern Competing with Tech in 2015.

I said all the SU fans were going to show up to see a whoopin, and you want me to "ask this guy (a Tech coach and former SU player) about that."
What else am I supposed to conclude? Sounds to me that you think he's going to say otherwise.

That's a question better address by somebody who actually made such a statement.
I was always told to first understand what the conversation is, before jumping in blind

Southern did seriously consider making the jump to 1-A several years ago, but ultimately decided against it. With a stadium seating capacity of nearly 30,000, and an extraordinary fanbase, SU is well aware that it would be an attractive FBS participant as it is an attractive FCS member. As the September 5 weekend approaches, many SU loyalists will visit this forum. They will talk smack; they will shuck and jive; and they will anger and rattle you. Let me admonish you though that this will all be in good taste. No harm will be intended at all! We are grateful just to be on the same football field with such a fine university as Louisiana Tech. By the time the gridiron date is over, you will know everything you need to know about SU, and we will know the same about you. Believe it or not, not a lot is known about LA Tech at SU or in Baton Rouge, generally. Some fans, for example, didn't know that Tech was a FBS school. But they know now! Dr.Ray Belton, President of the Southern University System & Chancellor of the Baton Rouge campus, Dr. William Broussard, Athletics Director, and Mr. Dawson Odums, Head Football Coach, will lead a contingent of thousands onto the Louisiana Tech campus as early as Friday, September 4, 2015. You need to be prepared for an onslaught of die-hard visitors. Please be prepared!

Earle, I hope you bring 10,000 fans. A word of advice. Bring a snack and a bag of ice. From what I hear, concessions will be out of food and only have warm Pepsi. You could always locate HogDawg and tailgate with him
Wish I could be there.

Exactly. ...So how do you come to the conclusion that means he would be rooting for SU?
Let me help you out a little.
His response may be something of this nature.
Knowing the history and pride of my beloved alma mater, they won't be showing up to see a good old fashion whoopin, but to dish one out.
So we can't afford to take the position of the average fan and under estimate them, or we'll find ourselves on the short end of the stick.

I agree 100%. We can't overlook anyone, especially Southern.

They are SWAC. It's not like they are as good as NSU and other SLC teams.

There are far too many schools moving up to fbs level simply because they have a larger then normal fan base. Hell some have done it even without a large fan base hoping by some stroke of luck or divine intervention by god, they hit the cash cow.
Moving up isn't something you take lightly or because you want to keep up with the jones. Sure you'll get an increase in scholarships but you also get an increase in the burden that comes along with that, like titleIX and higher expenses and travel cost.
Needless to say for everything to match up, you have to be able to find a conference that fits what you're looking to achieve and is also open to accept you.
