National Cheeseball Day
April 17th, 2012
There are two kinds of cheese balls in the world: the unnaturally orange powered fried cornmeal snack food and the baseball sized, nut covered soft cheese wad that, come holiday season, occupies party platters nationwide. So what if neither variety is particularly healthy for you? Don't be a cheese ball. Enjoy one today!

If it seems like all you ever hear is 'blah blah blah' then maybe it's time to ask yourself, 'Why is everyone on my back about stuff?' We bet the answer is 'because they've asked you a million times to do something and so far you just stare blankly at them, as if they're only saying blah blah blah.' So today's the day to finally run those errands, do those chores and, while you're at it, take care of the yadda yadda yadda as well.

You know that stress you've been feeling? It started with the New Years resolution let down, then came the Valentine's Day romantic pressures, then the mid-winter discontent and, finally, tax season. You know, that stress? You do? Ok just wanted to make sure you were aware of it. Carry on.
The stress now is....having to wait 4 months for football season to start!

National Wear Your Pajamas to Work Day
April 18th, 2012
Your panty hose are saggy, your high heels are too steep, and your pencil skirt's suffering from a case of static cling. Maybe it's time to give up and just wear your pajamas to work today. Bunny slippers and nighttime beauty mask: optional.

Newspaper Columnists Day
April 18th, 2012
Dear Abby, her sister Anne, and Carrie from Sex and the City; columnists are like the friendly face in an otherwise unwelcoming crowd. Newspapers can feel like wall to wall bad news, but the columnist is the writer you know and love. They may have an easier-to-digest point of view, or perhaps they don't write about anything relevant to the news at all, and can help distract you for a bit. In 1977 the National Society of Newspaper Columnists was formed as a group for columnists to exchange ideas, commiserate, and find ways to improve in their careers.

Pet Owners Independence Day
April 18th, 2012
We could all use a day off every now and then, but who will take our place at work while we head to the spa? Here's a great idea: how about sending your pet to fill in for you? Yeah, that's right. Your cat that ran right off the end of the table when he was chasing a moth. Or your dog that barks when you turn on the vacuum. That's what today's holiday is all about. If you can train a pet where to do its 'business,' then who's to say it isn't ready for the business world?

National Garlic Day
April 19th, 2012
Who cares if it makes your breath stink? Fellow garlic lovers everywhere will be more than willing to give you a big kiss for appreciating the spicy goodness, not to mention that garlic protects you from heart disease, the common cold, and vampires. So spread the word today by eating a big garlicky lunch, getting right up close to a stranger and offering a breathy HHHHHELLO. One whiff and they'll get the picture.

I definitely like garlic bread; but, there should be something better to discuss.

Lima Bean Respect Day
Lima beans get no respect. No respect at all. Don't save all your love for sugary sweets and fatty fried treats. Give it up for these fiber, magnesium and protein packed legumes. Your heart will thank you for it.

National Look Alike Day
April 20th, 2012
You may not want to share that gorgeous mug of yours, but if you're one of the lucky few to have a look alike, you're in for a world of awesome advantages. You'd have a stand-in for boring meetings and bad dates. You could have a body double to try on clothes for you so you can see how they really look. And you'd have someone to talk to who understands what it's like to go through life with such a pretty face. So get out and search for your doppelganger today. Just be careful you don't accidentally track down your evil twin.

National Pineapple Upside-Down Cake
April 20th, 2012
In many cultures, the pineapple symbolizes the notion of welcome. In our culture, serve Aunt Martha's delicious upside-down cake and your house guests won't just feel welcome -- they'll never leave!
