After reading more about this, I think you are right. Carson has absolutely no need to exaggerate his credentials. The book passage was poorly stated so that if people who understand the military academy admission process would think Carson did get a commission, but clearly it wasn't the intent of the passage to imply that. He was trying to say he could have had a military education and career and chose medicine instead.
Carson may even benefit from this.
The timing of this attack and the attack on Rubio still makes me think Trump is behind it. Trump is slumping. He really needs to win Iowa and he is behind Carson in the polls there. He continues to break Ronald Regan's rule that Rebublicans should never criticise other Repblicans in public.
I'm not convinced Trump is a former Democrat.
Hannity had a lot of people calling in yesterday that had stories that were similar to mine.
I was told that I absolutely would have a scholorship to West Point if I wanted it, but decided not to apply. Since I never applied, obviously there would not be any paperwork supporting the claim of a scholorship offer.
The passage in Carson's book may have been inartfully drafted, but I believe the gist of it was true.

The lie by CNN and MSNBC is not even close to being a mistake. As Rush said many times yesterday, "journalistic malpractice"...not that there is such a thing. I don't expect a retraction.
I like the fact that the Republicans are finally attacking the biased media. I'm okay with biased media. It has always been biased. I just didn't like yielding to them.
