In addition...Learfield only agreed to broadcast the weekend series games on live radio. Fans were SOL if they didn't have wifi or enough data to listen to the Internet feed.

If Learfield cannot build upon this season's success and generate enough revenue to keep Dave Nitz on full time, that should be a breach-able offense and LaTech should free us from their incompetence.

Tech needs to put our engineering and business schools to work and create a new internet provider.

@cusabbs: Macleod: There will be one central website created to link to streamed games, whether they are on C-USA DN or through a streaming partner.
@cusabbs has a link to a Macleod interview

Santonino Black on 97.7 said today that we (C-USA) lost money on our TV deal because we refused to play mid-week games. Did he just dream this up (as usual) or did he read it on one of the hate boards?

Later in the interview, the jackass interviewer (who didn't know how to simply ask a quick question and shut the hell up) asked Judy Mac where the money was going to come from to revamp the conference's digital network? Her answer? "I can't get into any specifics about anything."
Who is this stupid person, and how in the HELL did she ever get the CUSA commissioners job?
Sorry folks, CUSA is going NO WHERE with this woman in charge. We need somebody in the CUSA commissioner's office that can sell the snake oil to the masses. Judy MacLeod ain't it. After listening to Judy Mac for 20 minutes, it's no wonder the TV executives rolled over her like a lawn mower in TV contract negotiations. I'm in shock that the CUSA presidents and AD's would hire somebody as our commissioner who has ZERO personality.

Sad for CUSA and for TECH if not fixed soon.

It was in an interview with MT's athletic director. Fox wanted some games moved to the middle of the week. When CUSA refused, they indicated they no longer had interest in being a TV partner with the league.

Santonio said this is what cost us the difference in what we were getting and what we now get. I question that statement, but he is never held accountable for anything he says when he over simplifies things.
It was obvious before BB left that TV contracts were trending down for G5s. I'm not saying Judy Mc could not have done better than she did, but the difference in TV money appears to be a combination of many things including her lack of negotiating skills.

Fox couldn't commit to Saturday games (they had Big10) and CUSA told them no Tuesday/Wednesday games according to @cusabbs posts

Actually, he is likely correct. Keep in mind, the only sign G5 contracts are trending down has come from CUSA and leaks about this deal over the past 9 months. The MAC got a bump in its deal with ESPN in 2014 at a time when ESPN knew it would need to make internal cuts. And I don't think the Mountain West's deals are going to be cut when they come up in a few years. Also keep in mind, Judy Mc likely had little to do with the negotiations. CUSA had a third party firm out of Charlotte working on negotiations.
All that being said, I believe we would have a much better deal if Banowsky was still here. The league had an outstanding relationship with Fox and Banowsky. In my opinion he would have convinced the presidents to agree to move a small number of games to Tuesday/Wednesday. Asking each school to agree to move no more than 1 game per year. He probably could have gotten some concessions from Fox, as well. Like moving the weekly games on Fox College Sports to FS2, for example. He could have then supplemented the four games lost on CBSSN with the beIN package.

How much money were we getting from FOX and were they willing to keep it the same if we agreed to Tues/Wed games?

You have a much better feel for this than I do, but it appeared Barnowsky bailed on us and left us with this mess.
I'd like to see the numbers...before, after, and how much losing Fox and Tue/Wed games actully cost us.
