Re: Back to the important stuff....
Neymar in the 50th minute, could see it coming....Brazil 1 Azzholes 0. (not over yet)
Brilliant run and assist by Neymar in 88th minute, 2-0 Brazil, Final.
El Tri keeper, Ochoa, had a solid game, he kept it from getting embarrassing. Had 8 saves today. Some of them, simply remarkable.
Re: Back to the important stuff....
Belgium 3 Japan 2... best match of the tourney so far. Japan's 2nd goal was awesome. Struck from 25 yards that ball never spun, it knuckled, at 80+ mph. Keeper never had a chance.
Re: Back to the important stuff....
Japan leaves locker room spotless after defeat. An image of the team's locker room, which was first was shared by a FIFA co-ordinator, showed their changing room looking immaculate with a "thank you" note written in Russian left on top of the table. And Twitter has been won over.

Re: Back to the important stuff....
To my mind, there are tons of sociotheological implications to the actions of the Japanese team and fans ;)

Re: Back to the important stuff....
Best two remaining teams meet in one quarterfinal: Brazil v. Belgium. This should have been the final, but luck of the draw, and all those upsets have set this up. It is what it is.
Brazil has 10 strikers out on the pitch. No, really, their side is "attack, attack, attack." Or, as the Japs would say Tora! Tora! Tora! That's okay, but Belgium is a very, very talented side with experience, and are well-organized. They will punish Brazil's back line if they catch 'em out of position. My prediction is this:
If Brazil plays more conservatively, i.e. keeps organization in the back, and I don't mean a bunker defense, that's not their style anyway, but just doesn't get all spread out in the defending 1/3, Brazil will prevail 1-0. But, if Brazil is too aggressive, like Willian spending more time in the attacking 1/3 than he does defending, Belgium will make them pay and win 3-1.
Uruguay will upset France in a very entertaining match, 3-2.
Croatia will silence the Ruskies, 2-0.
And in another mild upset, Sweden downs England 2-1.
This means, call your bookies and bet on Russia, France, and England!! since I am usually wrong on such things. This year...6 European sides in the final 8...and no Germany, Spain, Italy, or Portugal among 'em. Weird year. Can you say parity!
Re: Back to the important stuff....
Brazil should win it all (they get 2-3 of their players back for this game I believe) if they get by Belgium.
The Uruguay and France match will be interesting indeed. I'm rooting for S. America again so I hope Uruguay wins.
I want Sweden to beat the UK due to their stupid immigration practices and idiotic mayor of London they voted for last year.
I agree that Russia goes down to Croatia as long as there in even judgement on the field.
Gooooooooooooooooooooooal Brazil!!!!

Have mercy, TT …
Do you EVER think of anything else?
Re: Back to the important stuff....
I hate Brazil and their flopping play. Neymar is overrated
Re: Back to the important stuff....
France 2 Uruguay 0
Uru was without its star player due to an injury, and while France's second goal was on a wicked shot, it should have been stopped, especially by a keeper in the WC quarterfinals. But, France was the better side today. No upset.

I despise it as well but love the country and it's people; not to mention it's soccer tradition and heritage. We've been in the jungles with tribes (government approved) and the natives still play it.
