National Coconut Cream Pie Day
May 8th, 2012
You know those cream pies used in old timey movies and comedy routines that are smashed in someone's face? Yeah those are usually made from shaving cream and not actual pies. Why? Because something like coconut cream pie is just too delicious to waste. Though if you really want to smash your face into one, that would be a good way to make sure you don't have to share your tasty pie with anyone else.

World Red Cross Day
May 8th, 2012
The Red Cross is not a single organization, but rather a movement that began in 1863 in Geneva and is now made up of various Red Cross organizations. They provide humanitarian care and relieve suffering to peoples worldwide, regardless of race, religion, sex, nationality, or political opinions. Clara Barton founded the American Red Cross in 1881. See what you can do to help your local chapter of the Red Cross today.

National Butterscotch Brownie Day
May 9th, 2012
If brownies are starting to bug you, butterscotch might just be the answer to your problems. Particularly if you've found yourself saying, 'Hey I like brownies, but I don't like how they're all'chocolatey. In fact, chocolate must be the worst part of the brownie. Is there a way to replace it?' We don't know who you people are, but we're sure you're out there. And this day's for you.

National Lost Sock Memorial Day
May 9th, 2012
Socks are the trickiest part of any laundry day' aside from folding fitted sheets. Socks have a tendency to lose their mates, resulting in a whole drawer full of sad singles. And it doesn't matter how hard you try to keep track of them, one will always get sucked into the vortex that opens up at some point during the spin cycle. So today, as you look over all the solo socks you've been hanging on to for all these years, pay your respects to the ones you've loved and lost.

At one time I had a devilish solution to this problem. Just buy all socks the same color, pattern, etc. Pick one and stick with it. I stuck with navy.

That is definitely the correct solution. All my socks are black.

Does anyone know where I would be able to find a Dr. Pepper Icee around Ouachita or Lincoln Parish? I'm headed home for a few weeks and need a hook up.

National Clean Up Your Room Day
May 10th, 2012
'Clean up your room!' As kids, we cringed when we heard that order. Cleaning our rooms meant putting away all the toys we carefully arranged on the floor or picking up the clothes laying all over the place, even if we weren't sure which were clean and which were dirty. And maybe it's because we revolted against it as kids that we put off the task as adults. But let's face it, our bedrooms still get disastrously messy and someone's gotta be the one to deal with it. Today, take the time to tidy it up, and while you're at it, organize your closet and check under your bed for missing items or pets. There's nothing better than going to sleep in a freshly cleaned room.

National Shrimp Day
May 10th, 2012
Nature's lovable, pink, bite sized crustaceans are perfect in salads, pastas or tacos. They're delicious served hot or cold, which means they're one of the better appetizers to wrap in a napkin and stow in your purse before leaving a cocktail party. What? Don't act like you've never done that before.
Re: If you want a thread to die
That deicdes it, shrimp po-boy for lunch.
