SOS with our QB? He can't make the simple passes?
It was nice to see Ryan Higgins and Vernon Butler on the sidelines yesterday. Higgins looked like he should be playing in the CFL or something- he is still in great shape physically.
My thoughts from yesterday- our passing game STILL needs work. J'Mar wasn't short hopping the ball, but he was definitely overthrowing the receivers, throwing behind receivers, and didn't have good 'touch' on his passes. The fade pass in the NW corner endzone could have been a TD but Smith threw the ball flat, which is much harder to catch (and easier to defend) instead of arching the pass to "drop the ball into a barrel". There were several good passes that were dropped by the receivers too (cough Woodard cough). The receivers didn't fight for the ball on the INTs thrown either, they just watched them happen. These are things that the players can fix if they will invest the work over the next 4 months.
Dancy is ready for primetime at RB. We seem to have some decent backups, but Dancy is fast and ready to roll today. Kam McKnight has got to get more physical running the ball North/South instead of being timid (although he did crush a defender in the open field that sent the guy off the field). Oh, and that Hardy to Dancy pass play- BEAUTIFUL!!!! We need to keep that play in our back pocket and use it when we need it in a big game (Boise State's offense does this every year with a high success rate, we can too).
Even with no blitzing allowed the defense was strong everywhere. Safeties & LBs were laying people out. Corners weren't 15 yards off the receiver and defended well. Ferguson was A BEAST on his sack of Elliott.
Defense please be ready to carry us for the first few games. 2018 Spring practice is now in our rearview mirror.
I refuse to believe the MVP of the Frisco Bowl was 13/34. Not possible. Frickin' Spring Game is a joke, QBs and WRs should be playing simple pitch and catch. Defenses are so hamstrung in Spring Games that the O's can go up and down the field with ease.
I bet Dog....65 was there and he'll report the truth, the MVP of the Frisco Bowl was 34/34 with 10 TDs, no INTs. You guys should be ashamed of posting such lies.
The new kickoff rule has been approved along with the other rules listed in the proposal.

Elliot was just about the worst player on the field yesterday. Turnovers and he looked slow when he tried running the ball himself.
Terry Bradshaw threw 11 picks
I thought J'Mar looked like he looked most of last year. He can throw the ball a mile, but he's inaccurate and struggles with what should be routine by now. Elliot seemed to do well with timing throws, but he's limited physically (we left before the interceptions). I thought Walker looked like he might be the best of the three while I was watching, but nobody really shown (shined?) at QB. This is not unique to us. A lot of QBs look bad in Spring ball.
McKnight is too slow for the read option. Period. The same was true of Craft last year. I don't know why we insist on running it with personnel that it doesn't fit. Dancy looked decent, but I thought Tucker was the most explosive back. I thought Powell and Belton looked good at WR. I don't recall noticing anybody else. As others have said, some of J'Mar's best throws were dropped.
The few special teams that were on display were ROUGH.
I didn't notice much on Defense other than the fact that #21 is at another level as far as being a competitor.
Punting was better than the FG and extra point kicking.

Thanks!
is there anyway to block a poster? been giving you benefit of doubt in homes you would post something worth reading but I officially give up.
Terry was in town for alumn on Friday and Saturday-- my grandson and I were in new broadcast room for early part of Spring Game--my grandson (10) had more information about our team than most folks-- went to baseball game after ( ugly game)-then Mudbugs playoff game Saturday night. posts like yours are pretty much worthless-- at least half dozen dumb posts about Terry --you do not even come close . so for you to come close in future lame post-
At Tech 42 picks 39 tds
NFL 210 picks 212 regular season TDS
super bowls 4 picks and 9 tds
good luck in future wasting our time
for what its worth Walker had shoulder issue--he only threw 5 passes and pulled -he was the buzz after-- many of us went to baseball game after and he was the main topic ( other than wr and qb issue). I will never question Tim and Skip but as just a fan -- Walker looks like the real deal. Beside the 2 lame picks in red zone our backup qb had a third close call trying to throw ball out of bounds - Blue team dropped it
Connor Taylor had 5 tackles in limited action --
like your post - everything made sense to me which should upset you ---
OOPS -- such an idiot presuming!!! I am a lifetime democrat because that is how yo had to be in LA years ago. last vote by partyline was JFK ( most catholics did--especially those of us in seminary) -- I learned over years that chicken in every pot (LBJ) helped very few and created dependency . spent 18 yrs floating around military bases and voted independent because I find Trump offensive and going to hurt during mid term ( do not have time to explain mid term to you) - I have been on campaign committee for Don Hathaway - our democratic Sherriff and die hard Tech supporter and Republic mayor. YOU really show your stupidity when you assume us old white folks are out of touch-- I pay for my BLACK granddaughters private Catholic school in Baton Rouge so she can reduce the issues she is exposed to. For 35 years I have been delivering food threw Christian services -a Court appointed special advocate for 10 years and president of Kiwanis for 15 years. why mention? because most of the volunteers are OLD WHITE GUYS -- I often disagree with older white posters but knowing background of many I respect them --
New York times research has shown that 66% of modern generation ( 18-34) have no idea of what Holocaust ( over 6 million jew-gays-catholics) gassed . 72% thought Hitler took over by force ( so you will know--he was elected) -- going to leave it at that- when I was your in 20s we lost friends to Viet Nam and majority of the old white guys you choose to ridicule served so you could be whiney poster--which is easier than saying it in front of us-- Now that is "let it out bud" --
taking that as clever comeback--- not going to try and explain why at this point in life I care less about most impressions-- last 12 months I have been to New Zealand for 10 days- Australia3 weeks (took granddaughter ) San Fran- Headed to New York Friday and be there for week with Blackrock who is largest money managers in world ( over 6 trillion in assets) . all of these funded in large by major firms - my best friend is a liberal democract and supports Tech with significant donations -- I tend to listen to other folks opinions and .... believe the definition of a fool is someone not open to information.. I do love Lafayette --had office there for 15 years-- drove down weekly -- wont fall back on the days when I taught English at Tech ( grad asst ) --
I've noticed the "Tim and Skip" mention a few times. Are you suggesting our HC, Skip consults Tim before making a decision and that Tim agrees that Smith is our best option?
poor-poor HogDawg--lover of twisting posts--reason I am #2 disliked poster on BBB-- I am a realist -- we had 75 players hurt and a transition year-- lost too many 1 point games and somehow you assume those of us die-hard supporters were "extremely happy"-ANYONE WHO KNOWS US DIE HARDS WERE CONTENT" just living in there own goofy world-- when you support a program for 52 plus years with assets and physical support you do not be EXTREMELY HAPPY ( what a goofball) -- you are a realist and accept that whining never fixes anything -- we all saw your pick for QB Saturday--want to post about that?? Guess what -- I am hoping for great year --we have 4 tough games and I accept that-- no matter how year goes I will be back next year hoping for great year and you will continue to be ripping team, coaches and fans who REFUSE to post nothing but negative -twisted crap-- switched my logo to Sunshine Alfred E Newman to warn folks there will be exaggerated support of program--its who I have been for 50 plus years--
Kind of hope Skip does listen to Tim more-- Tim won the game yesterday with the #2 team-- he had the trick play that lead to big yardage and the big plays came from Tim . Sorry if I gave impression that Tim was leader of pack-- I assume the head coach listens to position coaches and considers their input. NOT taking this as advice but I personally would like to see less predictable offense especially the Jim Mora field goal offense at times. We lost our #1 scorer of all time and we sure looked lame yesterday on FG and extra points. That said, coach may have that fixed before games start . My point is that we have a lot of armchair coaches who have no idea what happens during training. EXAMPLE - Elijah threw 5 passes and looked great-- I was disappointed he only passed 5 times and left game-- I did not know he hurt shoulder - we have no idea as a rule who is healthy and who is not each week . I have no idea why Elijah is not getting more attention -- I pointed him out last year during warm ups before games throwing from midfield to cones on sideline-- I think he is real deal but again, I assume Skip-Tim and Fitch know a lot more than me ..actually a hell of a lot more than me
Ok who coached each team yesterday? Were they coached separately?
JMar has GOT to quit baseball and focus on football.;)
Here is a spring game roster if you haven't seen it. The heights and weights aren't updated, but it is a complete roster. Hope it is readable.

Went to Spring Game...J'Mar looked like he was VERY rusty and needs a lot more practice with his receivers. The receivers were missing balls they should have caught. We need to break out the tennis ball server that the receivers used years ago. It helped then! I thought QB, Nate Cox #18 and later #17 played a good game. Skip was trying out different kickers for field goals and extra points...none impressive. Dancy, Dee fleming, and Israel Tucker looked good at running back.
Little Cee Jay Powell #81 was ready to play for the White team Saturday (he and Jake Norris apparently will share punt return duties this year). Powell's 40 yard run was impressive and not far from being a TD. He won a Louisiana 3A state championship at QB for Livonia HS and walked on at LA Tech.
I should have also mentioned that #16 RB Jerrod Craft played well. He is the brother of our former running back, Jarred Craft.
will not argue the writing (ADD) and failed typing at Tech . Now reading is another story-- I am good for a couple of books a week and my "man cave" is designed for reading--- I understand the sarcasm but I owe the success I have had to Tech and willing to work my whole life-- midnight shift plywood plant-carpenters assistant on Grambling dorm- grifts burger bar-- Tech library-- long haul truck driver for moving company --few others. Nothing wrong for giving Tech a lot of credit for who I became ... if nothing else I have 9 grandkids and couple of great friends who are big Tech supporters
so are we in panic mode yet due to the low offensive production?
We may lose by 30, but we WILL compete.
Holtz has only been here for 6 years.
Can't wait to see how our AD and his new "Yankee Boy" try to market to people they can't relate to. They only market to "the real donors".

I thought it was J'rod!
Searching the internet reveals Jerrod Craft graduated from Haughton High in 2014. Does anyone know where he has been and what the story on him is?
