Re: BleedTechBlue: Et tu, Brute?
I believe JFord on this. My father in law spoke with several high ranking people at LA Tech that go to Temple Baptist Church today. All of them said that we were not going to bowl game before the NIU info came out and threw Bruce under the bus for his decision. They would not say much else about what his decision was but layed the blame on Bruce and his decision.
Re: BleedTechBlue: Et tu, Brute?
Why all the hate? He reports the facts he has.
Re: BleedTechBlue: Et tu, Brute?
Ford (BTB) isn't the only one stating these facts.

Sorry, I call B.S. on that statement!

People don't lie at church.

So, media guy, did you bother to ask why the I-bowl just HAD to have an early decision instead of waiting until Sunday afternoon, LIKE EVERY OTHER BOWL IN THE FREAKING COUNTRY?

I wonder if "EVERY OTHER BOWL IN THE FREAKING COUNTRY" invited a team several times with no response.
How many times does a guy have to ask a girl out before he moves on?

Wait, so people are killing you here for saying that Tech turned down the I-bowl twice? Wow.

You don't have to like how the Independence Bowl operated.

Indy Bowl wanted a response so they could go to their plan B to make sure they got a quality game so they could move on making their arrangements. Indy Bowl called Bruce, he said hang on, they said let us know by this time, he didn't call back in time...so they moved on.
I believe that's all Ford is saying.

Yep.
Re: BleedTechBlue: Et tu, Brute?
Yes, what is the significance of church attendance in this discussion? Are you saying that a Baptist Church controls Louisiana Tech athletics? Are those the guys who don't have sex standing up because they fear some church member (voyeur who peeks in neighbors' windows) would accuse them of dancing? That is a truly weird post!
Re: BleedTechBlue: Et tu, Brute?
So they went ahead and asked ulm so they would be ensured a "quality opponent" for the MAC school.

Sarcasm! Excellent use of sarcasm!
Re: BleedTechBlue: Et tu, Brute?
Guys. I sat right here in my living room and laid this exact scenario out to my wife about how we had a decent chance of staying home this year if NIU won their game. If I could see it as a possibility surely BVDV could too. My question is didn't BVDV have some idea about the snakes on the I-Bowl committee? Saying no to them was the kiss of death. No way to come back later! There will come a year when we are 6-6 or 7-5 and look to them for a bid and it will never come. We've burned that bridge.
