Yes. That's the guy I remember. The name of one of his shows was Tops for Toys and you bid "Big Chief" bottle caps to buy toys. Another was a local talent show on which he played trombone in his band. A guy from my home town played clarinet.

I am fairly sure that Tim's older brother went to Tech but do not know if he graduated

His younger brother, Curt, graduated from the Tech journalism program.

Curt and I started out in journalism together. He stuck with it. Was very good from what I remember. Really great guy. The last I talked to him, which has probably been at least 10 years or so, he was in Hawaii. Lost touch after that.

And to think, we almost didn't have Tim for sports. When Curt and I were in classes together, he told me a top secret story at the time. I don't know if you remember when Pat Sajak was attempting to get a daily talk show going ala Oprah, but he was doing that and Wheel of Fortune at the same time. If the talk show had been successful, he was going to leave Wheel and Tim was going to replace him. Obviously, the talk show failed and Pat is still on Wheel. They didn't want the word getting out at the time because everything was still in a flux.

You flatter me, HD. I could never look that hip. Actually, until several months ago, I was the last person in my immediate family to have to wear glasses. I went from not needing them at all to having to wear them all the time-bifocals. It just so happens, they look like the ones in this pic.
