I was wondering why we ignored Hunter Lee last year, but it was not nearly as big a question when we had a totally healthy Dixon and big time receivers in Patton and White who were getting us yards and TDs in bunches. This year, there is a desperate need to utilize Hunter Lee more than we are doing.

Yeh exactly, when Dixon went down and we needed someone to get tough yards, I thought for sure we would see more Hunter Lee. Nope, we decide to run King in the middle of the line and he did okay, but we know he cant withstand too much between the tackles running.

I'm Standing by Coach Dykes for 3 Years Before...
I'm going to give Coach Holtz the benefit of the doubt. I decided to give Dykes 3 years to get things straight before I started complaining, and it worked out. So, I'm giving Coach Holtz my vote of confidence that he can get it done in 3 seasons. If not, then I will start the complaining again. I might not be happy for the rest of this season and the next 2, but I'm going to stand by him.
That is all. Carry on...
with yo bad self.
+1

I don't "stand by" anybody. I stand with, and for, TECH NATION! Meaning of course, Tech is bigger than any one person. Now, that also means I don't care who gets the job done. As for the players, if Hunter Lee is not gonna get a chance to shine, fine, I'm happy with Martin stepping up and reeling off a 62-yard TD jaunt. I have NO loyalty to anyone. The only thing that matters are results.
So, if ole Skippy rights the ship and Tech wins, great! I don't harbor any ill-will against him, or anyone else. What I am not willing to do, however, is give someone a chance just for the sake of giving him a chance. So, we should see something on the 19th. A team definitely moving in the right direction. No more excuses.

IMO....Holtz is just now getting to know what players can do what and where in a game situation. It should get better from here on out.

This may be true and I hope we progress as you predict.

I find this statement deeply unsettling.
Is this outlook limited to football?

At least we won't have to look any further than this board to find the our next great coach. Surprised some of ya'll ain't been poached already. :D

From "Managerial Grid" one management style production first, screw people, is a 9,1. The optimum style for an organization is a 9,9 expecting and working for the best for both production and people. And, there is the 5,5 - half-assed both, like our government.

Why should it be limited to football, or athletics in general? And, what is "deeply unsettling" about it? Or....are you just kidding?
Re: I've done this before, and I'm going to do it again.
Because the way it reads on a message board is that you're a total prick, whether that's true or not.

Is that what you got out of it? Wow!
So that means, sticking with football for the moment, which is the context in which I expressed the notion, a football team should ALWAYS stick with whomever they start with. For instance, the Houston Texans should show unwavering "loyalty" to Matt Schaub, no matter what, because if they don't some idiot on a message board will label them as pricks. Results don't matter.....only unwavering, no-questions-asked, blind loyalty. Gotcha.
Ya know....some of you should type out your posts, and then sit on 'em for awhile, kinda mull 'em over. Then maybe you might avoid embarrassing yourself with silly comments.

Funny thing is that's exactly what I thought when I read your post. Where did anyone say anything about blind loyalty and all that jibberish? You posted a rant saying you are the polar opposite with no loyalty to anything or anyone and nothing matters but results---that's a pretty harsh and cold way to live life. Sure you may get results, that seems to be how Saban operates and it works well for him. Pretty sure I've heard him called a prick on many occasions though.
Re: I've done this before, and I'm going to do it again.
Can we fire some fans ? It stands to reason that any coach that's starts a new program will have some things to overcome. Your dealing with a lot young people that for the first time are playing Division 1 football. The problem is keeping a coach longer than 3 years if he's successful...What if fans were to leave after every 3 years ? When is the "Ground Breaking" ?

I wasn't kidding. I generally value relationships over results. But I can respect that, in football and in life, results are most important to you. It may explain why, after a decade plus on BB&B, you and I have never quite seen eye to eye on a great many things.
But reasonable people can disagree on premise. Some can even still be friends.
