We've already got 20 signatures, so I think this "news" will have basically ZERO effect on our recruiting. By next year it will be forgotten. Further, these recruits would also rather be at a P5 than Tech, so I don't think that's some sort of crazy revelation that a coach would prefer more money and being in the best conference in the nation.

Exactly. This was never an big deal. He has never been "in the running" for any job outside of Ell Aye Tech. One guy tweets and the rumor mill begins. Naturally Holtz was not going to say he was NOT interested. That would have been less believable than his "we competed" statements.
