Re: NCAA Football | Week 5
Need USM to be competent going forward. A freak buffer win against UAB would be sweet.
Re: NCAA Football | Week 5
Hah! the pundits were singing Leach's praises...oh, he taught the SEC a lesson with his high-octane offense, blah, blah, blah...well, Mr. Leach, welcome to the SEC, where your team actually has to show up every week or get beat. Too much basking in his glory and reading the headlines...and to boot, Mr. Leach, you just lost to the absolutely WORST team in the SEC, who hadn't won a conference game in THREE YEARS!! Hope you enjoy those headlines!
Re: NCAA Football | Week 5
Coastal Carolina's QB....Grayson McCall...I like this kid! Saw CC play a couple of weeks ago and he caught my attention. Watched a good portion of their demolition of Ark State yesterday, and I like this kid even more. Way back before anyone else noticed I was touting a certain QB at Texas Tech...not saying McCall is the next Mahomes, but I am saying watch this kid, he can play.
I think CC is at Lafayette next week. Hmmm....

Losing to Arkansas makes Mississippi State’s clinic win over lsu even more enjoyable to me.

When did you start touting Mahomes, peewee league? He was setting Big 12 records as a true freshman. Bless Andy Reid because the Saints were set to pick him with the next pick.

Amen brother. My son is a freshman at Mississippi State. I asked him how do you defeat the defending national champion one week and lose to a team on a 20 game conference losing streak the next?

.......and THAT’S what you get from Mike Leach! A big time win over a supreme opponent one week, and an inexplicable loss to a cellar dweller the next.

No way can, nor will I, recreate the national media/pundits singing the praises of other QBs, and no mentions AT ALL, of Mahomes. I was posting on the blogs I follow...and yes, there were a few informed CFB fans who would respond to my posts with a "I agree!" But mostly silence. The Bama QB, whoever it was back then, the Oklahoma QB, etc...all were getting Hypesman mention, every week, and Mahomes labored in relative obscurity. So, don't give me this BS now...using your 2020 hindsight...that Oh, I knew about him too. BS!
It was EXACTLY like what is going on with this McCall kid. You hadn't even heard of him until I mentioned him and still have written him off as a big nothing. Typical. McCall is a freshman, listed at 6'3" 200 lbs, and has all the tools to be an NFL QB some day. His name has NOT been mentioned NOT ONCE on any national sports' shows.
BTW, the Coastal at Lafayette game is on ESPN2 Saturday...tune in.
