Yep, that's why Thomas is being held out of these last few regular season games. He could play, but why take the chance? Saw an interview with Brees and he said he needs these reps, not so much to get the rust off, but just so he can feel comfortable and confident his injured ribs aren't a limiting factor.Quote:

Takes two things to win a championship: 1) a great defense, and 2) a championship caliber QB. The Saints have both...when they show up. Problem for the Saints is that "losers' curse," guaranteed to have something weird happen that costs us a playoff game. Has happened just about every year we lose in the playoffs. That is, in recent times, early on we just got our butts kicked in the playoffs. The last time that happened, as I remember it, was the 2006 NFC championship game at Chicago when we lost something like 37-13, or whatever the final score was.
