Tech has lost to a SWAC school once in 50 years. Let's not make it two.

Re: Homestand: SMU, Alcorn, Cal Baptist
Tech 49 Alcorn 47
Now 11-0 all-time vs. Alcorn State.
Alcorn is the better team and would easily win a 7-game series. Much better coached.

I’m quite shocked that Tech won but even in that it’s disgusting to win by only 2 points. This has to be Tech’s all time worst team since their very first year. There should be a lot of people who are sickened by this. The once world class Lady Techsters now stink and it’s the adults in charge who are responsible.

Didn't the Techsters go 13-9 in their very first year? I thought so, but it's been 50 years since then and my memory is starting to fade (a little).

A win is a win is a win. I wasn't counting, but it seemed to me there were many, many Tech shots that went partially down the basket and then popped out during the Alcorn game - many more than usual. Barely beating a 2 - 5 SWAC team doesn't really bode well for the rest of the season (although Alcorn has played some good teams so far), but for now, I plan to continue watching the games.

Last week our HC was looking at a contract extension...

I love Brooke, but it's time to move on...

Please tell me this was a joke! I can't fathom one reason why this would even be contemplated. She and hubby are absolutely awful. If you judge a HC by their record, then she should have been gone long ago. However, I know 1/2 of this board still want her (for reasons I can't even bear to hear). "She runs a clean program!" - yep, right into the ground! "She's an ex-Lady Techster" - yep and I used to be 180 lbs. Both are history that have no bearing on the present. This would be the last straw if the AD actually rewards her with an extension!

Things are really bad. We are not even a threat within the conference.

Brooke's players have set a record for GPA, think I saw there are 3 or 4 perfect 4.0 GPAs, and the team as a whole is something like 3.5 GPA. I know some of you don't give a damn about stats like this, but these are supposed to be STUDENT-athletes.
That said, yes, I would prefer a high a team GPA and a high team winning percentage on the floor. I will say, however, these results can be accomplished with just about any coach, one we pay a whole lot less than what Brooke & hubby are making. Which is why I advocate for allowing Brooke to play out her contract string and then hiring a "cheap" coach. They are out there, and there are plenty of "good" players who will love to play college ball while earning a degree.

I mean, yes. If the purpose of the team is to keep the athletic GPA up, then that can be done a lot more cheaply.

If you want student-athletes, get out of FBS and probably FCS, because you won’t be able to compete.
