Tech's Jackson resigns - Shreveport Times

Before I comment on this, I want to verify that he is indeed, gone.

Not trying to hijack the thread and I do agree that coaches should hire their staffs, but didn't tunafish just hire half the staff before he hired a new head coach for the dolphins?

Why? His last 3 QB's that he coached are in the NFL, well 2 of them are for sure, b/c 2 of them started at one point this season. His offense is fine, we need playmakers and a QB.

If this is true, look for Eggen to move to the DL coach and for Dooley to bring in another linebackers coach.

Don,

Dooley could have had an OC when he came here. For some reason he chose Scelfo. I believe the play calling will get better w/ a QB and some playmakers.

is there any hard news reporting on this? I hate to hear that Ed is no longer with the program...he was one of the coaches that I liked and enjoyed working with.

I hope they make a new position to keep Conroy on if he decides to shake up that spot too.

I know what you mean. The thing about Conroy is that he is huge at getting and keeping our kids eligible. I don't have a problem with him being here as long as he isn't a HC or Coordinator. At least keep him in the athletic dept.

I would imagine the new LBs coach is moved to DL he was DL coach at aTm.

Well, since this seems to be holding water, I'll say what I was going to say. This doesn't come as a surprise to me, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was mutual. I was told by someone that Ed was planning on leaving anyway. In fact, I don't remember who I told it to, rabiddawg maybe, but I told someone else that this year. According to this person, Ed told them in person that he was planning on leaving. So, before we start to get all upset with Dooley, realize that this may have been a mutual parting. I'm not saying that I know this for a fact, but that I was told nearly a year ago that Ed was planning to leave anyway.
