The Tech family frowns on Kevin Sims.
One of the few things worth reading was JJ's article on the latest sports of the week/month. There was one other article I read, but I forget his name right now.
Pathetic. Does the Tech Talk have an editor?

Shiiiiiit's weak
As one of the News_bot's agents, I will say that we DO have the Tech Talk's RSS feed on our list and we do post relivant TECH talk articles. Opinion peices are screened as well. When it gets into our super-duper secret screening area, one of the Admin's will read the article and if we feel that it's something that needs to be moved to the public eye, we can do so with 2 clicks of the mouse. Over the last few months, we have posted several TECH talk articles and some that have had plenty of discussion about TECH.
As an individual... HELL NO!! You can kiss the evil empire's butt all you want. But remember this, in 10 years when you think back and realize that you are missing some good times at TECH events, just think back and relive those times that you were playing Halo or tiddly winks alone in your dorm instead of in the Joe or the TAC actually LIVING.
He can go f*** himself.
This mother f***er thinks he's a poet. Oh woe is me, asshole. One day, Louisiana State will wake up and realize that having 9th grade grads as fans isn't so terrific.
Oh my gray cap. So poetic.
Do you understand why people have a problem with it?
Reading this causes an emotional overload!! Where to begin? What to do? Scream?
Calm down and get focused on moving Tech forward by promoting the changes we can affect. People like this one will become virtually non-existent as Tech achieves its goals.
Right on, Tech78.
Wouldn't know it by allowing this to happen. I fired off a letter to the editor and encourage all of you to also. Do it online at http://www.thetechtalk.org/user/index.cfm
This cannot be allowed to continue. All the good work being done to instill pride in our current students, alumni, and the community is damaged by this type of perspective being espoused by the university's paper. I am not suggesting censorship only that this not be a position of the Tech Talk staff.
I wonder what the protocol would be for the President, AD and/or head coaches to visit the Tech Talk staff and stress to them that we all need to be on the same page and that anything coming out in print under the auspices of Tech should not involve any commentary on another school's programs unless we played or play that school within a week's time. We can't have our own people espousing the virtues of other schools and using our media as their forum. That is simply unacceptable-even in a blog or opinion piece.
I'm not talking about keeping from reporting what is wrong at Tech if there is something to be reported. I'm talking about needless hyping of other schools.
Sim shoulda burned the hat or not let him have an interview. It's shameful that he even had the hat on in the first place.
I wouldn't want to suppress freedom of the press or any of those other fine amendments we all love and live by, but there should be some type of protocol regarding this type of crap in The Tech Talk. It defeats the purpose that everyone - coaches, AD, many, many students and all loyal alumni - is working towards. This is the kind of crap that holds us back and keeps us down...which is probably the whole intent of the crappy blog. Wouldn't want an upstart elite college in North LA to rock the boat...uh I mean the flagship, now would we?
Kevin Sims, what in the hell were you thinking? "Uh, I wonder if coach Sim will notice if I wear my LSU stuff during this interview?"
I don't care if your relatives did go to school at UL-Monroe, use a little common sense man!
And then to come on here and post a link to that? :icon_roll:
i did the same thing when i was a young reporter. had thrown on some stuff in the morning, including my old ga. tech hat, and went down to do an interview during the summer. sim gave me a nice talking-to and then gave me a red tech hat that i still have to this day.
