Someone Has Finally Listened - Southern Univeristy Coming to Ruston in 2015

There are actually a lot of realistic prognosticators on this board. We don't always predict great seasons. This game just happens to be one that SHOULD easily go our way. It's not just because you're FCS Southern and we're big bad Tech, but you're actually getting what many believe will be one of our best teams in quite some time.

So I've heard. The last time we played a fbs team that had one of its best ever was the 2002 Tulane squad.

We sacked their qb more than anyone ever had in conference played and put up over 500 yards of offense.

After a few miscues and untimely turnovers, we finally give up the ghost 37-19. They ended up winning the aloha bowl that year.

So says the average fan that's only concern is their bragging rights. But to a coach or knowledgeable fan, whose team wasn't suppose to be within 4 touchdowns of an fbs bowl team and accomplish something no other fbs team in their conference were able to do that year. It's a major accomplishment and nothing to be under appreciated or not notice by the winning coach and those yet to play his team.

I had advocated for years to bring SU to Ruston. They will bring a ton of fans (or literally, many tons!) and a great band. Aillet will be sold-out.

As for the game, I expect Tech to win and to win fairly easily. By at least 20 pts. More on the game as it approaches.

For now, I am looking forward to seeing my very good friend and business associate, who is currently living/working in Houston. He is a former Jag player, OT, a very big man! For the past 10 years since I first met him, he's talked smack about Southern whipping Tech. Now, he gets his chance to see it. He emailed me a month ago about being in Ruston, inviting me to stop by his tailgate. I certainly will.

This will be a great day for college football in Ruston. And Southern, and its fans, will help to make it a great day.

I don't take ANYONE for granted. I fully expect the Jaguars will come to play, and play hard. We need to be equally motivated.

Louisiana Tech historically does not play FCS schools very well. Been watching these Dawgs a LONG LONG time, and we rarely do what is "expected" of us.

Question; What's the issue with some of your fans not wanting to travel and play a game at independence stadium?
