Man I'm jealous. I sure wish Ruston would get a Five Guys. It would do great in a college town.

Ruston does need more development. We tried the local approach for a long time. I am happy that there are finally places that keep real hours and at least act like they care about your business.

as soon as the areas we already have are filled, then we can say we need more. We have tons of spaces available behind Chilis, on the corner of 167 and Kentucky Ave, and in Village Plaza. We need to fill up what we have, please don't build any more.

So you are saying the chains care more about your business than the locals? Not my experience at all.

Yep,not that the service was all bad,but they were always very happy to close before we could ger finished with ball games and they never really seemed to care if we were there or not.

What Ruston really needs is a Freeb!rds. Ideal for a college town.

AMEN! When I bring people to games in Ruston, the only thing that matters about food is that we find a place that is different and unique to RUSTON. We do not want it to look like "every town, USA". That does NOT set it apart.

My thought is keep the chains on the Interstate and downtown keep growing local places that are unique.

Is it just me, or does anyone else get the urge to put the words "REALLY?" under the "Coming Soon Santa Fe Cattle Co." sign?

Same here. I avoid the chains, plus I like helping out the local guys.
