It was on the agenda but is no longer, may still be getting ducks in a row on this and didn't want it not to pass and send the wrong signal to the House for their floor vote next week;

This article was left as a comment to the Times-Picayune editorial. I thought it was interesting, and made some decent points, though the overall message was long-winded and really made it sound more like Tech should merge with Grambling or ULM instead of LSUS.

I read that long before you posted it. I thought it was waaaaay too long winded. Of course, it was written by an "Associate Professor" from LSUS, which means the guy isn't even smart enough to be "1st string" at his own school. :icon_wink: I also thought the "icky" comments regarding LA Tech-Grambling were a border line racist remarks. He didn't need to spice up his comment with that inflammatory language.
I'm just happy that my kids didn't have to take classes from this guy.

He sure does take some leaps of logic in there. Lots of assigning motives to big bad mean ole Tech.

He just rambled to me. He convenienty dismisses the study that was done, how LSUS is totally underfunded and the lsu system is not and has not done anything about it, that UNO had to leave the system because of this same reason, how us taking over Grambling does not help Shreveport at all with a research university. The only point I agreed with was how we have too many colleges in Louisiana - and this would HELP that.

The Grambling comment was ridiculous, then to say that Tech and ULM are on equal footing and Tech might be merged into ULM. HAHAHAHAHA, get a clue. That just shows that this guy has no clue what is going on and is just ranting because he is afraid he is a piece of the low hanging fruit that will get the boot. I hope this thing happens and I hope Tech is taking names of all of these guys and let the ax fly down.

This! Because if you can't do your own real and truthful research on this topic, with all that is "out there", you sure don't deserve to be teaching at a university.
