President Biden

Biden is preaching to Trump supporters to give him a chance...hmmm...well, on his very first day he signs a bunch of EOs to undo most of the policies that made us supporters of Trump.

Reminds me of a skit from the Carrol Burnett show. Tim Conway and Don Adams are rookie bank robbers, they kick in the door of the bank and machinegun down everyone inside. Don Adams does one of those Maxwell Smart routines, "Alright, no one move and no one will get hurt!" Then he looks around realizing it is too late for that, and rolls his eyes.

Well, Mr. Biden, it is too late to ask for support, reconciliation, cooperation, of "giving you a chance," you have machinegunned everything Trump supporters wanted in US policies. If you truly wanted to extend an olive branch you should have waited on those EOs.

Biden wouldn’t be able to overturn them by EO if they had been passed as laws...those relics were never bipartisan to begin with.

Exactly. The ability to overturn them by EO is an indictment against Trump.

Yes, we all know about EOs. Likewise Trump overturned some of obummer's EOs, because he couldn't get things thru Congress either. But, that's not the point...or maybe it is. Since EOs can be cancelled by other EOs..i.e. Biden could have done it anytime...next week, next month, next year...if he really wanted to create unity he could have held off pending the response he got to his olive branch. But, he played his cards now there is nothing left, or not much left, to bargain with.

As it is, he has effectively removed any incentive for "the other side" to even talk to him. Maybe that is what he actually wanted and his rhetoric of unity was just that...rhetoric.

I thought that some of Obama's EO's Trump tried to overturn such as DACA, and some Federal Judge ruled that Trump's EO was unconstitutional. How could one EO be constitutional and the one to "undo" it be unconstitutional?

Can't be without a Deep State/CCP/One World Order judiciary.

Xiden's EOs will be fought. Some may stand, many shouldn't.

And Xiden will be beaten in his efforts to enter into treaties without 2/3 Senate approval.

That's right! I had forgotten that.

If reversing an EO is unconstitutional that also knocks out the constitutionality of the underlying EO.

So, Guiss agrees that DACA should never have been implemented.

Obama’s were overturned as well. And Obama left so many Federal judgeships open that Trump set a record for conservative judges nominated and seated across America. Obama was one lazy President.

That is because Mitch McConnell led a blockade to prevent Obama from making appointments. In fact, if Reid didn’t use the nuclear option, Trump would have had far more spots to fill.

How quickly you guys forget the history of Republican obstructionism.

Thankfully they did something right! NOT enough of it...but something.

Congress has become so divided and incapable of actually doing anything that the judicial branch and executive branch have increased in "power" due to this. They deserve and have deserved for a long time their 11% approval rating. Things that should be legislated through Congress, have now been relegated to EO's and judicial rulings.

I agree. The branches of our government are not co-equal. The legislative branch is the most powerful branch. They can override a veto...they can change the constitution. I hope that an evenly split Senate will be helpful.

Hey, we agree!

You've hit the nail on the head here. I think part of it is that there are perverse incentives built in for them to act this way. You're better off politically failing. On either side, if you take a hard line and push for something you know won't ever get the votes, you can sell yourself to your base as a martyr who stood up for them, but were blocked by the evil other side. Meanwhile, for any governance to happen the executive or judicial branch has to get involved. And then, if it breaks your way you can still claim credit. If it breaks the other way, you get to campaign on stopping the over-reach of the evil judicial and executive over-reaches that you solemnly pledge to fight. Then the pendulum swings on POTUS and you get to reverse all your positions and do it from the other side.

But if you compromise and get anything done, you have multiple risks. What if it fails? Then you're on the hook for that. Or (probably the bigger fear) what if you get primaried for compromising with the other side? Or, God forbid, your voters stop seeing the other side as an existential threat to their very lives and more like just people with different policy takes and then you have to work harder to win elections because you can't just roll out of bed and say "they're out to get you" and get all those scare votes that are less for you and more against them.

So you just do everything you can to stick with the deadlock. Helps you, terrible for the rest of us.
