- As violence envelops Egypt, Christians are paying a heavy price in what one Coptic leader called an attempt at ethnic cleansing, with scores of their most sacred buildings and monuments being destroyed by members of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Christians there (10% of Egypt's pop.) are not whining anymore because the Islamic radicals are killing them off and burning their churches. Woof are you just another anti-God and anti Christian lib? Or are you concerned about the rapes, killings and overall persecution of the Christians in the mid-east? I can guarantee you that a Former Archbishop of Canterbury will be clueless.

Don't know woof but I see nothing that indicates he or she is anti-God or anti-Christian. Nor is there anything that indicates the AoC's thoughts should be applied to the Middle East. The article woof posted clearly says the former AoC warned Christians in Britain and the US that overuse of the term "persecution" diminishes the meaning of the word for those in countries where persecution includes "murderous hostility."

I don't disagree with the former AoC on that issue, however, Woof seems to be posting the link as a rebuttal to TT's recent posts about Egypt's Coptic Christians and other Christian populations in the Middle East which does indicate that he thinks the AoC's thoghts should be applied to the Middle East. That's why I asked HIM his opinion on whether or not he thought the comments of the AoC applied to Middle Eastern Christians and if they are just whining about perceived slights. Frankly I don't care if he's anti-God or anti-Christian or liberal. His religious or anti-religious and political leanings are irrelevant to my questions.

Thank you. I think your thoughts are "spot-on". :)

You didn't answer whether or not you think it applies to the Christians in the Middle East. I'd like to know your thoughts on that. Incidentally, I also agree that too many Western Christians think they have it tough and whine too much especially when you read what it says has to happen before the Christ returns. Anyway, I'd just like to know to what extent you agree with the former AoC and does that extend to the Middle Eastern Christians.

I also asked him this:
"Or are you concerned about the rapes, killings and overall persecution of the Christians in the mid-east? I can guarantee you that a Former Archbishop of Canterbury will be clueless."

As a Christian, I am concerned about rapes, killings, and overall persecution of anyone, anywhere.
