We think this day is fabulous. Like flowers, you don't really ever need a reason to send a card. Especially if it's filled with cold, hard cash.

Not one, not two, not even three! Make sure you wave all your fingers at your neighbor today. That's right, turn to the person on your right, put on a big smile and... jazz hands!

What do you expect from kids of a Tech grad who loves Tech? Blue is always best.
Now, if they were fighting over the green one, then you may need to take them to a counselor.

Boy Scouts Day
February 8th, 2012
Happy Birthday Boy Scouting of America! On this day in 1910 you were created here in America a few years after Sir Robert Baden-Powell started it in the UK. It's incredibly important for turning young boys into proper young men using, of all things, merit badges. Now repeat the oath after me: on my honor, I will do my best to do my duty... to get as many merit badges as I can today.

There is no doubt that kites have changed history, and our lives, forever! Legend has it that in 1752, Benjamin Franklin flew one and, after a shock, discovered electricity. What will you discover when you go fly a kite?

Lox (cured salmon) and schmear were made for one another. And someone had the smarts to dedicate a whole day to it. Whether you like them toasted or straight from the bag, these holey breads are straight from heaven when topped with lox. Give it a try!

I DO NOT like having the Texas A&M game in Shreveport because it will take a hour and a half to get out of the parking lot after the game......always does with the ShrevKeystone cops. And, Thursday night is a lousy time for a ball game for working people. However, I'll be there to support the Dawgs!!

I posted it on 3 threads. I grew up in Shreveport and lived not too far from Independence Stadium. I graduated from Fair Park High School. But, after we played Grambling at the Independence stadium.......we couldn't get out of the friggin parking lot. It was way late when i finally got back to Natchitoches. That just didn't sit well with me.

You're holding my hand, Chuck, you sly dog.
What kind of Thanksgiving dinner is this? Where's the turkey, Chuck? Don't you know anything about Thanksgiving dinners? Where's the mashed potatoes? Where's the cranberry sauce? Where's the pumpkin pie?
[entering a kitchen where the sink and counter are full of dirty dishes] He's only been here a week, and I'm beginning to see why nobody's missed him.
I'm very discouraged, Chuck. We just had a 'true and false' test and it followed an essay test. We still have three months of school. There'll be more study, more tests, and more agony. How can one fall in love when all these stupid things are going on? Tests to do, reports to write - all these dumb things to do. There's no time for love, Chuck.

Get a Different Name Day
February 13th, 2012
A day your parents will not be so happy about! Don't like your name? Today you are expected to do something about it. That's right, its time to fill out all the petitions, orders and affidavits, getting them stamped and notarized. And after you publish an announcement in the newspaper (for legal reasons) you'll have to take your new name paperwork to the DMV, the Social Security office, get a new passport, a new birth certificate, change your business cards, email addresses, postal address, call the IRS... wow, this name changing business might just be more trouble than its worth! Unless you change it to Chad Ochocinco. That's just cool.

National Tortellini Day
February 13th, 2012
In Bologna, Italy, where it's been said tortellini was created, there is an underground secret society known as the Learned Order of the Tortellini. Their mission? To preserve the tortellini. So as you can imagine they're very upset that you've tossed aside their little pasta pockets of joy for that long, stringy noodle! Now quick, cook up a pot of traditional tortellini soup before it's too late!
