The real point, LFR, is not who we woulda/shoulda/coulda played! The real point is not even the school's reputation or the gatekeepers' (as you called them) opinions! The real point is that those boys did what was asked of them and they won enough ball games to go to a bowl. Because Bruce was too dumb or too cautious or too something to get duped by the Liberty Bowl folks, those boys don't get anything! They are the point, not which bowl or which team we hate! If the so called 'gatekeepers' you speak of will come out and be real men to that group of young men and tell them what you are saying, then I will give them a thumb's up for their integrity. But since they won't do that, how do you or anyone else explain it to a 20 year old that he is sitting home because his AD was too stupid to get something in writing???? Life lesson???? That's sad! Even you have to admit that!
Coach was in on the bowl talks. He wouldn't let his players down on a whim.
