It was literally a case of a core group of Tech fans taking a stand against the administration keeping JBIII any longer. The bad news is, Jim Oakes' wife got very angry and confronted the core of Tech fans around the sign, and we were told here on BB&B that things got a very tense. Nobody wanted that.
But, the good news is, IT WORKED. That stunt in the UNT stands back in 2007 served to rightfully embarrass the Tech administration, and it appeared to be the final impetus for firing JBIII and ushering in the Derek Dooley era. If it wasn't you, does anybody know who it was?
I've often wondered how things would have gone for LA Tech football if those fans didn't take a final stand that night. Would we even have a Jumbotron today? Probably not.
That sign was hung at my tailgate spot before the game. I will let the person that made the sign and brought it to my tailgate spot and later into the game own up if they would like.
The other sign read "Reneau, how low will we go" The look on ol Dan's face when he pulled up to the FNB tailgate next to us and saw the sign was priceless.

Anyone plan on increasing your LTAC contribution this year? Or giving for the first time?

I agree, UF will be able to get a "high profile" guy if they want, should Donovan leave. No way they dip down and get a guy who has never made a tourney yet. However, if they do have to fill the HC spot, the domino theory will come into play and that is more worrisome/probable than White leaving for UF.

I am no longer worried about this year. He will be at Tech for another year and, if we are lucky, he will want to continue after that. No need in worrying, since it won't change the outcome. I am ready for next season!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone's favorite sportswriter has an article on CMW staying at Tech

Solely because of the greatness that is Sec 107...
Re: Parrish: UT focusing on Mike White for HC vacancy
I fell off the LTAC wagon a year or two ago, but I will be back this year. I am also going to re-purchase my MBB tickets, even though I might not ever be able to use them.

Really? A close to $10 million contract at Tennessee is nothing compared to Tech in terms of money? If the word "money" was left out of this sentence, everything makes sense.

I think he's saying neither the "money" nor the "fame" of the Tennessee job was enough to pull White away from LaTech at this time. If he's as good as we think he is, he'll get more offers. He's not desperate and there are better jobs than Tennessee out there. For White, at least right now, Tech is a better job....

And, he should be able to get by for a while on $50,000 a month.

...or it would make sense if he said "the lure of money and fame of the Tennessee job was nothing compared to what White has going at Tech".
